I guess people forgot this since the lame x-box rock crap.. assuming its not been posted, enjoy :)
"Take Two is looking forward to increased sales of both Midnight Club: Street Racing and Smuggler\'s Run as the installed base of PlayStation2 begins to grow.
Both PS2 titles remain top 10 sellers at retail, according to TRST data for the week ended Dec. 23. Sales of both games increased over 80 percent from the prior week.
Sam Houser, president of Rockstar, said, "We\'re thrilled with the strong results for Midnight Club: Street Racing and Smuggler\'s Run for this Christmas selling season. We expect that sales of our software products will continue to be strong as the installed base of PlayStation2 increases significantly over the next 90 days."

"Has the PS2 really been selling as bad as people (cough Dreamcast zealots) have been making out? It certainly doesn\'t seem that way as the Christmas hardware sales figures have just been revealed.
Sony has beaten out Nintendo and Sega for this holiday season, with both of Sony\'s consoles topping the sales charts for the week of December 23rd. Not surprisingly, Sony\'s PSOne has outperformed the PS2 due to shortages, but with PS2 production on the upturn this is due to change pretty soon.
Here are the totals:
• PSOne - 292,000 units (34.7% share)
• PlayStation 2 - 188,000 units (22.4% share)
• Nintendo 64 - 181,000 units (21.5% share)
• Dreamcast - 180,000 units (21.4% share)"

Chrono,
that\'s good news for Sony AND Rockstar games!
G-R,
have there been any other major sites to confirm those stats?
-
Yes, those numbers have been confirmed by other sites. It doesn\'t matter, DC did better than Sony fanboys said they would before PS2\'s launch. And if you look at those numbers, they are all comparable.
-
Yeah, but the DC fanboys made it seem like the Sony truely dropped the ball, and DC should\'ve been selling more systems then PS2s. They didn\'t.
-
Sony did drop the ball on some things, but it\'d been pretty hard to fail for anyone this holiday season. Sony couldve sold a million systems, but the dropped the ball due to manufacturing problems. The difficulty in developing for PS2 hasn\'t been a big problem so far, and may never be, but it was still a mistake on Sony\'s part. And with next to zero advertising on either side (except for PS9 commercials....ugh...) they both did good.
-
Afterall, why advertise a system that you have a shortage of, and where the demand is still high. As for the DC, I see it as a missed opertunity. Yup, sales are way up thanks to Sony not having enough systems. But they could\'ve sold more if they just advertised it more.
