Today was one of the best videogaming related days I\'ve had in a while. First my good friend Eddie came over from Richmond, Canada. He\'s affilated with sony, we went to the mall to hang out. But it turned out to be pretty boring, so he told me that he had Onimusha in his car (He\'s got a PS2 installed in his car, don\'t ask me how he did it). What could I say but "LETS GO!!!!".
Onimusha is the best game ever for the PS2, and maybe one of the greatest ever on any console. The Graphics are spectacular the game play is superb. The Pre-Rendered backrounds look awesome, and unlike the Final Fantasy backrounds, these ones are somewhat Interactive. You can pick up wooden boxes, sticks, leaves etc. are all interactive. The controls are like Resident Evil, personally I don\'t like those controls, they seem a little loose to me. But nonetheless after you get the hang of em, they are a breeze. Say for instance you are behind your enemy, and you hit a button, it will do attack that will chop your opponents head off. But if your infront of your opponent, it will just be a normal swing of the sword, and you won\'t do much damage. You will have to try more advanced attacks.
The Game is still hack and slash, but my friend says the story starts later in the game...about 3 hours into it, you will get involved. So that tells you this game is pretty long (unlike that other highly anticipated game ;)). You will not be dissapointed with this one gamers. Or at least I wasn\'t.
Now thats not all...., My second strike of luck came just about 1 hour ago. When I went with my other friend to Circuit City to pick up a tape for his Video Camera (BORING!!). So I started making my way to the Video Games Section. Where they had a PS2 sitting in display for customers to play....Nothing out of the ordinary right?...well as I walked closer, I saw a little midget playing a racing game. I almost wet my pants when I saw that the game was GT3!!, I quickly Ran towards the Display and the little kid quickly got of it (I don\'t know if it was fear from me because I was bigger, or if it was the weird ass look I had on my face in excitment :)) Anyhoo...He left and I grabbed the controller. He had picked the S2000, but I didn\'t really give a lobster\'s left testicle about what car he had picked. I just started playing...It was beatuyful, Im not quite sure what the level was called, but it was the one where the sunlight came through the trees (The only way this game could have been more realistic would be if you could actually feel the sunlight)...I quickly hit the accelarator, but then realized that the Turning and steering in this game was very hard. It was like driving a real car. I played for about 20mins. Through the same level. I picked all of the cars available, they were:
Honda S2000
Mustang
And some car called NRS. (sorry im not a car expert)
These two games are everything they are hyped up to be.
Anyway to offer you prove, I can only prove the GT3 because it was located at an actual store. Here\'s the address:
Meridian Street
Bellingham, WA, 98226
Circuit City
It\'s right by my house, I\'ll go back later today to play some more. As for onimusha, I\'ll play the next time when everyone else does, March.
If you guys have some questions, I will try to answer them, but remember I only played Onimusha for about 30mins. and I played GT3 for about 25mins.

how long is Onimusha? 10 hours? 20? anybody knows it?

I am pretty sure all the major gaming stores are getting the gt3 demo. the eb and babbages at my mall both have gt3 and i have played it extensively
mustang svo (red)
s-2000 silver white black or red
raybrig nsx
trial mountain is the course and the mustang is my favorite to play with. I have probably logged 4 hours playing this one course. it is very tough indeed, since you have to play with the stock settings. (i usually make the back brakes a little tighter to get more of a sliding effect... is that understeer or oversteer)
anyhow, the game doesnt look as impressive on that stupid lcd screen as atv does on a true television but you can just tell that it will look spectacular on our televisions.
The light sourcing is incredible as is the reflections. On the replay mode you can cycle through the different cars and watch them race as well. The smoke effects are awesome and although i may be imagining this i could swear as i was waiting to start the race and revving my engine that i saw smoke appear from the tailpipe. Also when you stray from the course with the brakes locked up it goes perfectl from smoke to dust and back to smoke again. whew what else.
The replay mode looks so freaking incredible. I would find a good camera place and do doughnuts, and my personal replay trick -- get it into reverse and punch it, then swing around in a 180 and be gone !! this looks so utterly amazing on the replay mode that words can\'t describe it.
you can also pick drift or racing and it seems that with these cars racing works better. vibration on or off. ahhhh want to tell you guys more . the track is very well detailed with moss growing on the sides of the tunnels.
it is a thing of beauty to be sliding sideways into the tunnel and the smoke from your tires is rolling off the road in such a realistic manner that in passing you might say damn that guy cant drive he shouldnt even be racing !!!!
any thing i havent covered feel free to ask

OK, that´s it - I´ll preorder it... NOW !!!

im going to check out the three EB closest to me to see if i can find that demo
im going and buying more games and possibly preordering a few(gt3 most likely)

Hey I\'m really glad to hear that GT3 and Onimusha are turning out to be great..now if Z.O.E also turns out to be kick ass then I\'m set..three great games..and one metal gear solid 2 demo ^__^

Thanks for telling us your experiences with Onimusha and GT3 theGr81!
I\'m getting more and more excited towards Onimusha, but sadly I think I\'m going to have to buy FFIX against all odds... well, I\'ve waited that game for a year, and I\'m going to miss the great march of PS2 because my money will be out...
what should I do? :)
