I\'ve read somewhere that the GC does not use any cooling fan?

Is this true?...if it is..what cooling tecnology are they using?

Yes, it does. Infact, it has two, one on the right and one on the left.

Thanx Vivi(RedXI)...is it so hot in there that it needs 2 fans or are both the fans size smaller than ps2 fan so that both will output the same amount of coolness just like the ps2 fan?

The fans are about the same size, so I guess it gets hhot pretty quick.

Actually,it doesn\'t use a fan.The GameCube will be extremely quiet compared to PS2 and X-Box.

Read this: (IGNCube Q/A)

Quote
Quiet, please.

About the only thing I dislike about the Dreamcast is the annoyingly loud spinning and reading of the disc. Do you expect a similar effect with the Gamecube?

Fran responds: GameCube\'s discs are very tiny so you\'re going to have a lot less seeking, and it\'s not going to take as much torque to spin them. I think GameCube will be a very very quiet machine, and from what we understand it doesn\'t have a fan either. The grating in the side is simply for regular air flow, but it doesn\'t overheat. Hopefully that remains the same through testing.

I hope that helped.:)

welp, I can complain my loudy Ps2 only when I\'m watching a moody quiet film, and usually I have headphones so I don\'t mind :)

when gaming it doesn\'t harm the experience a bit, and you won\'t notice it... and I like the little noise the box is making ;)

of course I have nothing against it being little more silent but it isn\'t an essential must-have addition...
