Title: The DVD on the PS2 is excellent!
Post by: PS2_IS_SUPERB on February 03, 2001, 01:23:33 PM: I got my ps2 on launch day here in the UK(nov 24th) and up until yesterday i had not tried out the dvd player.
But last night i rented out Gladiator and The Sixth Sense and the picture is top drawer!
Just like the picture of a £200 DVD player!
And it plays games!
Oh what a tremendous life...

The DVD Player function of the PS2 is outstanding !
There are many Test on the Net that can prove that...
It has some functions (DNR and so on) that no High-End Player has and the picture is as good as on the Top Players from SONY, Panasonic and others.

Remember: It does play Games also... :D
And the Picturequality IS at a very high Level !

I mean, without PS2 I couldn\'t watch DVD\'s, so it\'s a big plus but not the thing that made you buy the console. It\'s just something positive; something you can be happy about...

But I can\'t compare it to hihg-quality DVD-players because I don\'t own one, but I have nothing to complain because PS2-DVD-playback beats the heck out of VHS anytime!

And that\'s the most important thing...
