Title: RAYMAN 2
Post by: cloud345 on February 04, 2001, 03:50:28 PM
This has got to be the best graphiced ps2 game out right now.

I got it today after I picked it over Oni. I say I made the best choice.

It even has a sticker from psm magazine quoting "...perfect example of what a next-generation title should be like."-psm

It should keep me occpied for a while because it is on a dvd.

Psm Magazine gave it a rating of 5 stars. If you want a game for ps2 get this.

Yep, that game is fun...
I heard it gets hard which is great :)

BTW,

For all people who want to get the sticker off,
1.) Try to tear the sticker off, if a white part is left don\'t worry
2.) using peanut butter, rub it into the left portion of the sticker and it will come off :)

I tried this on my own thought and it surprised me :p

I agree with you.

Usually the first generation games in every system have some type of imperfections. Sometimes it\'s the graphics( slowdowns), others the gameplay, and others they\'re just too short.
However, Rayman Revolution doesn\'t have any of these common faults. It has huge and well designed levels, good gameplay, durability and amazing graphics.

One of the best choices until March.

i agree, a couple of sites said the graphics were not that much better than the dreamcast, but i highly disagree. The lighting effects make a huge difference. Also the new power up mode is a welcome addition and, albeit confusing at first, the replacement of the world map with a truly 3-d island is awesome.
p.s. does anyone think that grabbing the rings and swinging around is one of the funnest parts of the game ?

I own the dreamcast version for a long time now, and I don\'t get the point about the 3d-worldmap thing, cause the dc version has a 3d map also.
Are there any substancial differences between the dc and ps2 version, I mean if you own it on dc is the ps2 version worth a buy?

Not as impressive as I had hoped. An amusing game, though I feel that it falls short of the PSM claim; there are times with very noticable slow-down. Aside from that it is still enjoyable.

I love Rayman Revolution ( almost finished now; just going to find all those "extras" ); it\'s very beautiful game. The landscapes where you travel are astoundishing ( don\'t know if spelled that word right :) )...

The outside worlds are humongous and beautiful.. the cliffs, the water... everything! This truly shows a bit of what PS2 can do.

You truely made the right decision to buy Rayman revolution.. it\'s an experience over all other platformers...

It does get harder as you go along and in a way it has a bit of Crash Bandicoot in it.One way is that in parts of it you have to ride things to get around, for eexample, the part where you have to ride the cannon.
Im still at that part because I dont know where to find that Globox (dont think its is spelled this way) guy.
The graphics are great but I cant compare it to the DC version because I never played the DC version. The backround is great. It has alot of stuff from the origianal version such as the cages and that you get new powers from the ferries.
Also another thing related to Crash Bandicoot is the masks just that there there.
I like when I f you dont do anything for a while he dribbles his body and spins it.
 I give it a 10.0 or 5 star
and it really does show the power of the ps2 but only a tiny bit! :D there goes x-boxes chances :D j/k

I traded in Oni for Rayman 2 myself

I like it, but I expect heluva  lot more from next gen titles, Rayman 2 is nothing more than a PSX or N64 Platformer steroids.

The game is also on the kiddie side but the gameplay is fun. I\'m having trouble finding those Yellow lums, i need a few in all the areas I\'ve explored thus far
