Title: New drivers for the DVD player in the PS2.

I heard from a friend that Sony are releasing new drivers for the DVD player, is this true? If so how much would they be? I\'m guessing these drivers will add new features and other things so could Sony put out new PSX drivers which would make the Graphics better like bleemcast?

they would be free,
i\'m not sure how they would release them
probabably on a demo disk, and on several big game releases.
I would possibly expect them to increase the PSX res to 640 x 480, that in itself would improve graphics on older games drastically, and should not be too hard to do.

BTW, I did not say I would NOT be posting here...
I\'m not feeling good and can\'t concentrate on something I don\'t care about (the mexico war!?!?)

Sony are planning on releasing an official remote control for the PS2 and it will come with a disc which has improved drivers on it, Chrono is right too; there was a Sony representative who said they would package more up to date DVD drivers in with games releases which would update your machine without any hassle :)

Hey Chrono !
DSBC is asking about the new DVD drivers for PS2 and
you\'re saying they will also pump up res for PS one
games to 640X480 ; where\'d you get that from ?

Well it isn\'t a for sure thing knotter but it would be cool if they improved the psx driver and made better and improved it

So does anyone know exactly what the new dvd driver will do to improve the older version?

Well, Sublimesjg, with some dvd\'s the text and
subtitles are somewhat blurry. Saving private
Ryan had that on my PS2 with my dvd 1.2.1 driver.
But a 640X480 PSone mode would rock, it would
rule out Bleemcast.

I was beginning to wonder how they would update our drivers. Heck my DVD player works great i don\'t want anything wrong to go wrong with my machine.
