Title: Sony May Reduce PS2 Price!!!

According to recent gaming news reports, Sony has possible plans to lower the price of the PS2 by a whopping 10,000 Yen ($86) in Japan, due to friction from competitors such as Nintendo and Microsoft. If the price cut ever occurs over in the far East, you bet it will trail closely behind in North America and Europe!

SCEI director Kenichi Fukunaga said:"Some people believe the Xbox is more powerful, but we\'re not using computer-based components. I\'m confident they won\'t be able to match the level of expression of our exclusive semiconductors":D

It\'s newer technology, and it\'s from very deep pockets.  It\'s going to be very good, and I would count NGC out on that either.  But just like DC-PS2, you aren\'t going to notice it enough to cream your pants or anything.

They\'ll have to lower the price to keep up, X-BOX is starting to generate alot of hype and we all know what that does.  I hope the PS2 does go down to 200 soon, I want one, but not 300 dollars worth, not even 250.

yea i price drop along with a release of more systems would send sales through the roof

if everybody could get them easily and cheaper

dang - it would almost be chaos again

Sony will have some affordable pack next year when X-box and GC launch!  Don\'t count on any price drop until then.

That\'s good news for many, my pals included. Many friends of mine are waiting for the price-drop before they buy PS2, but they\'ve said that they\'ll wait as long as they need and they won\'t buy an X-box.

I could say that\'s the spirit :)

yes.

a price drop from 300 dollars would help sony jump outta the hole they are in, and send sales through the roof, i know many people are waiting for the price to drop, and if they drop the price when they relaunch the system in march, i think it would kick them way ahead of the competition.

sony has won japan... sony is ahead in america,

 but who knows? tides could change, things could happen, but if they drop the price of their system it would do wonders for them...

yea thats ia a big deal in the console gaming - things shift so easily

every generation has had a big change whether from atari to nintendi to playstation to ???????  you just never know till it happens
