I remembered when the first roumurs about playstation 2 came. This was back in 1997 or something, I found a website (swedish) that sad thought the playstation 2 had those specs.

they said it would be a 64 bit risc proccessor capable of 2 million polygons/sec.
When I saw this I just thought WHOOOOWH, what a machine.

Well the playstation 2 were way better than those numbers shown there.
So when the roumor specs about PS3 starts floating around in this forum now in the year of 2001, I just say: Whait until 2005 when the real specs are shown, the numbers are going to make us go crazy, just like with the PS2.

yes, i cant believe they are already talking about ps3 and ps2 has only been out for about 4 months now, its a trip

its annoying because a lot of my friends arent gonnabuy  ps2 anymore coz they are "going to save up for the ps3".

Well, then your friends are going to be waiting a long time considering that the PS3 won\'t be out until 2005, which Sony has \'officialy\' stated the date is going to be.  If everyone thinks that this new chip is going to be for the PS3 then think again because it is pretty much the same chip in the PS2 just with more embedded RAM.  Oh, and it has already been \'officially\' stated that this new chip is not going to be used for the PS3.  My guess more along the lines of a supped up GSCube.  Heck this thing isn\'t even the Emotion Engine 2.

u fool. sony said themselves they are gonna use the EE3 in the PS3. lol.

Maybe we should all do like that guy in the commercial.....wait until the time comes to teleport our PS9. :D

I think that the PS3 is gonne be better then we think it is now for sure, but the question is....how much better?!?!?!

Don\'t even want to think about it now, I really want to see developers open up the PS2 architexture

The only thing I\' curious about is what SOny is doing to the GS in regards to effects texture compression sytems etc that the superior GPU\'s of GC and Xbox are already instituting

That\'s why I shouldn\'t plan to get a PS3 yet. It may not accomplish if I\'m unlucky.

And don\'t talk about PS3 yet to me. I think your Friends are stupid PhoeniX :)
