Electronic Arts in Europe officially announced today that the company is working on Quake III Revolution for the PlayStation 2. The game will be released in early 2001 under the EA Games label and is being developed by EA\'s UK-based development studio, Bullfrog Productions, with close cooperation and support from id Software.
"EA is thrilled to enter the arena of first person action games with a franchise as strong as Quake III," said Bruce McMillan, managing director of European studios, EA. "Quake III and the PlayStation 2 are the perfect combination to create the ultimate first person action game on a console:D"

YAY! a port!
-
lol mm
-
Looks crap IMO..
Thought the shots are as usual ign crap quality so that might b it.
-
I\'m impressed! looks better than the dc version!
who was saying ps2 cant do pc ports??!!
-
Uh-Huh it can do DC ports. Whoopie! Big deal! Where is the \'net play? What? You mean there isn\'t? Oh, it will be as much as fun as Unreal Tourament, maybe even less. WoooHooo!!
Note my intense sarcasm.
A port of an aging game and then taking away the fundmental part of the gameplay. Ohhh, it sounds so good...NOT!
;)

I actually took the time to post them, so here they are ni random order, LOL:

yea they need to get the online running - or esle this games really are useless imo.
The funiest is to play lots if people not just four people. . . it is hard to get four people to my house and play against each other
-
I\'ll play it alone:)...what\'s the problem?
-
wow those pics are great... the speed must be good for play to this game... :)
-
Wait, that\'s a PC port. Aren\'t you guys totally against that? I thought PS2 fans didn\'t like PC ports. Oh well, I guess you don\'t like PC ports on other systems, just the PS2 right? Enough with that...will the game have online play? If not, then what\'s the point in playing it?
-
Wouldn\'t Q3 be programmed for Directx.. So wouldn\'t it need to be RE-programmed for ps2. Therefore making it, not a port. but a conversion.
-
a port is a port is a port
i see it as a DC port, not PC
-
i hope it doesnt suffer from slowdown as much as unreal tournament.
-
Though. I really don\'t care for Console FPS or RTS games. I rather play them on a pc. But thats my opinion.
-
Looks like someone forgot to turn the lights on:) good textures though.
-
Well, it\'s called Quake III: Revolution. That last part of the title is there for some reason. So it just might be more than a port.
There has to be some extras, because the online options will come to use much later. The single player and multiplayer -options must be wide and full of extras, just like Timesplitters.
But we will see.. if it is worth its name, then I\'m definetely going to buy it! Nothing beats up a Quake III match with friends...
-
Bah!
Quake 3 sucks if you ask me..

I seriously doubt I\'ll pick this one up, Red Faction will keep my FPS interest for awhile hopefully.
As for PC ports in general..... I like to see how they look but in all honesty none of them really interest me, at least not as much as other games coming out on the PS2
