This is a boxing sim so don\'t expect "tireless instant punch at a touch of a button" game.
I\'ve been playing Career Mode and it\'s very RPG like as far as skill points is concerned. When you start off, you create your own fighter as a boxer, slugger or free style. As you train, you gain experience points, which you can add to your skill points, similar to SSX.
The first 4 opponents you face should be beatable but you\'ll learn as you go. The graphics are awesome. When you start fighting, don\'t go in there throwing punch after punch coz you\'ll wear your player down.
Over all - this game is very enjoyable. I love the inherit strategy and tactics that come with boxing which is well incorperated into the gameplay. EA has done it again.
However, there is a problem with my CD. It will sometimes not load the game and I\'ve tried it on two different PS2\'s. So it\'s not my PS2. It\'s the CD, even though there is no visible scratch or smudge on it. Careful. I expect a recall.

Thanks for the info, the last PS2 game I bought was DOA2, but I\'m waiting for the new era of games. Although this game sounds great, boxing never seems to survive!

Sounds interesting :)
I love Boxing.

I love boxing and have been waiting for this game a long time. There are just no good boxing games anywhere this is a most needed change.

hmm.
my friend was thinking of buying knockout kings.
ill tell him about it, looks like good fun.
-
let me ask you this. can you have more than 1 created and user contolled boxer in a carrer. or do you have to have to have seperate carrers for your user contolled boxers?
-
I actually almost bought that game yesterday. My friends had the first one, and that game was fun as hell, this one will probably be better, but I think I\'ll just wait for a better game to come out like Onimusha or something like that, i think the boxing game will get boring after a few weeks of playing it. :smokin:

I\'ll buy it. I think I like a sim better than arcade ( ready to rumble boxing round 2 ). That\'s reality.
Boxing is very tough. If you throw punch after punch you\'re going to get tired soon, and then your boxing-glowes start to drag down, wich means bad offensive and then... PUNCH to your face, another, and you\'re too tired to avoid them quickly enough.
three most important things in boxing:
1. Untouchability. If you stay whole round untouched, that\'s very good. This is the most important thing. Don\'t let your enemy get points out of you.
2. Moving. You gotta move alot. But don\'t run, don\'t panic. Cool mind is very important.
3. Punching. Again, don\'t panic and throw punches everywhere. Clean punches; fast, not powerful, and you get points.
BTW. these are the rules of "fly-weight" serie. In heavyweight the rules are much much more relying to punches.
