Title: MGS2-demo direct feed movies
Post by: Falgarok on February 10, 2001, 09:10:14 PM
One of the greatest Spanish magazines, SuperJuegos (http://www.zetasuperjuegos.com), posted in their website 7 short movies captured directly from the MGS2 demo( they received it days ago from Konami), so i thought that you\'ll be interested in see them.

MGS2demo-Video 1( 1.90MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs1.avi)- The tutorials

MGS2demo-Video 2( 3.58MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs2.avi)- The battle with the woman; just look at how the canvas is moved by the wind... awesome

MGS2demo-Video 3( 3.70MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs3.avi)- More tutorials in action( no menus this time)

MGS2demo-Video 4( 3.53MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs4.avi)- Movie style cutscene

MGS2demo-Video 5( 6.67MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs5.avi)- Sneaking and fighting with the guards; more graphical details( the wet deck) and an incredibly well animated Snake.

MGS2demo-Video 6( 2.53MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs6.avi)- Having some fun with the cardboard

MGS2demo-Video 7( 4.14MB) (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/02enero2001/mgs2/mgs7.avi)- shooting the glass( great stuff)

I hope you\'ll enjoy them as much as i did :).

PS: the movies are in avi format but compressed in MP4, so you\'ll need this MPlayer codec if you don\'t have it already installed( Windows users (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/codecs/DivX3.20.exe)/ Mac users (http://ftp://zetasuperjuegos.zp40.telefonica-data.com/Superjuegos/codecs/DivX%20Player%201.0b9.sit)).

Well, after running the exe you may click start Menu and then search in Programs for the DivX program group. After that click "Run me first" and a few YES later the codec will be completely installed( no reboot needed).

PS: BTW DivX works with Windows Media Player 6.4 (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia) or higher.

ok I d/led the movie and the compressor and when i click on the compressor it unzips it and asks me if i want to install ALS100p. so i say yes and then nothing happens. plus there is no DivX program group in the Start menu. what is wrong???????????????

Well, those instructions i gave to bossieman were based on the .txt file which came with the codec i use( a previous version of the DivX codec). I installed it a short time ago so i thought that it\'d be the same installation process.

No problem, i\'ll download now this version of the codec...

Solid, its just a codec, its not the thing that plays the video itself.  All you do after the codec unzips, you just need to open Windows Media or Real Player to play the videos.

Solid Snake 88 download this and install it into your computer...then all you problems should be solved. The same thing happened to Jumpman until he downloaded this.

Ok, the installation is easier now.
After you run the exe it shows you the codec version. Click "I accept" and it will unzip the codec in a temp folder. Now it asks you "do you wish to install DivX?", so say yes and wait \'til the process message disappears( 15-20 sec). The codec will be installed.

If it still doesn\'t give you any picture, check if you configured your MPlayer to view .avi formats( open Mplayer and click View>Options>Formats and see if Video/Avi archives is selected). Then open the videos.

PS: sorry for the slow server; the site is new and they\'re still having some speed problems, but at least the videos are awesome.

Holy crap those look good!!! :D Those look even better than the E3 trailer!!! I don\'t know why you\'re downloading slow with a 3mb/sec Cable Modem. I have a 768kb/sec T1 and it downloads at 30kb/sec. These gameplay screens look good!!!
