Title: BroadBand!!!

Do u actually need BroadBand to access the net through ur ps2 or can u do it with a 56k modem because if u need BroadBand man that sucks cuz here in Tasmania(Australia) we dont have BroadBand so what am i spose to do about that??

Surfing the net is alot better on a PC so don\'t worry about surfing on your PS2(unless you don\'t own a PC). I am also in OZ and I can play games online through my Dreamcast, Quake 3, NFL2K1 and others and the lag aint to bad if I play with someone in OZ it\'s almost non existent and that\'s with the 33k modem. In other words if you want online gaming and surfing now then get a Dreamcast, believe me you wont be disapointed I\'m not:D. You will need to import games from USA to play online but it\'s worth it.

56k is a *****!  I live through a cable modem, i hate going backwards!

BillyGunn, cable has its own caveat as well...worst being when its pumped into huge suburban neighborhoods while the service providers fail to offer enough servers to handle the demand.  All those cable users are hung splitting down and diluting the pure speedy connection of cable.  Kinda a shame.  My best friend currently has cable and our Counter-Strike sessions can get pretty even pings (I\'m stuck with 56K period, cuz I\'m outside of the Richmond, VA area) with one another because his neighbors have all hooked up to cable and when they are all surfing at the same time...well, his pings kinda suck.  Now he\'s ordering DSL to get a more guaranteed connection speed.

I don\'t mind, it\'s just that for me...

well I live in a pretty isolated area of the world...  I wouldn\'t worry about other people having cable!

I cant get cable were I am yet. As soon as I can I\'m gonna give it a try.
