Title: Presenting : My puny website. Where\'s yours?
Post by: Hawke on February 14, 2001, 11:20:17 AM
Finally getting my homepage (almost) done I feel obligated to ask all my friends for their homepage addresses and add them to the links page. The friends in this case include all of you fellow forum members :)

If you want to be listed, provide me with the URL and a brief description of your site. No porno sites though, please :p

My page is called Lei\'s Place (http://www.geocities.com/hawkerx13/lei/index.html) (that alias being my former everyday one in finnish \'net communities). Feel free to comment on it here since I don\'t have time to include a guest book just yet :)

Also if you could list some decent console/game-related sites I\'d \'preciate it. I\'m working on the links section right now and want to make it as complete as possible :)

Yay for us then nO-One *salutes... err, with the secret long-haired-people\'s salute* :p

My aim was to make it easy for the eyes and easy to use. I don\'t wanna be responsible for anyone\'s migraine or frustration by making a cacky looking hard-to-navigate site. I\'ve done some more complex sites but I like to keep at least my own personal site nice and clean... :)

My hair is shorter... then again, if it was long, i\'d call myself Ken instead of Ryu :)

Anyways, that site is sweet.  Be sure to add gamesnext.com as one of your multiconsole links :)

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Very nice work Hawke. Really. Some of those Text thingys are very funny.

BTW I really want to set up my own site and I\'m thinking about suing GeoCities. I have Frontpage 2000 so I\'m set as far as creating it goes. But I\'m just wondering, how hard is it to create a site on GeoCities? Is it really free? What are the terms? Is it easy to upload to? Please answer.

Really nice site.

The site\'s very cool!

I mean, very well done! It\'s simple, yet good-looking, easy to use, etc. And it has something to browse!

Keep the site going, and if possible, make forums there ;)

BTW. is silent hill worth a buy, hawke?

Why are you suing GeoCities... a typo there somewhere? :p

They\'re at the moment the best free service providers I\'ve found. The only bother there is that they add a miniscule ad to the upper right corner of the page, so don\'t go aligning any navigational or other buttons there. And yes it\'s all free. Their server is also pleasingly fast (that is, compared to some other free-space providers) and uploading is easy, either from their webshell or by FTP. Just type in some personal info and your username and password and get uploading.

And Joydieboy, Silent Hill is definitely worth a purchase. It instantly became one of my all-time favourite games when I first booted it up. I recommend playing the game in a pitch black room with the brightness level set so that darkness really looks like darkness. And with headphones so you can hear nothing but the game. The sounds are insanely well done and build a great atmosphere. Highly recommended to everyone who thinks they can handle it  Ooops :D

Thanks Hawke :)

I just thought of buying it, if I get some extra money, because few of my friends have really said heavenly things about the game. And now I saw it being sold 120mk per game, so I thought I should ask opinions here.

I\'ve heard it\'s a game full of atmosphere. Well, what\'s Silent Hill 2 going to be then? ;)

With all the better graphics and all...
