Title: Onimusha to be first 1 million seller!

Capcom\'s Onimusha is rapidly approaching the 1 million sales mark. The medieval survival horror game has sold 860,000 copies in Japan, and the company intends to ship 300,000 copies to the United States for sale in March. At this rate, Onimusha may be the first PS2 title to sell 1 million copies.

Madden, TTT, SSX. None of them have reached 1 mill. yet?

Until the user base in the US and Europe is larger it will be very very difficult to have Madden or SSX become million seller. That means that like 60 or 70 percent of all us ps2 owners would have to buy it. SSX I believe just came out in Japan and so did Madden, so maybe they will hit it with Japan\'s help. Games that are released first in Japan and then here have a much better chance. That says something for Tekken and Ridge Racer that they have yet to sell a million (They\'re overhyped) if indeed they have not.

Worldwide. But Onimusha might be the first PS2 game to hit 1 million in one market. That is pretty impressive.

I\'m happy that PS2 has found some respect as a gaming-console around now. Onimusha showed the door for all the ps2-bashers wich shouted: "PS2 is nothing more than a bad dvd-player!!!"

And I think Sony\'ll show this door many times in the future. Next 1 million sellers ( and this is quite 100% sure ) are:
MGS2
Wipeout Fusion
Silent Hill 2
etc.

The former best selling PS2 game was Ridge Racer V with some 750,000 copies if I remember correctly.

But nearly 900,000 copies so far of Onimusha is pretty good in two weeks or so.

I don\'t know much about Onimusha, but from what it seems this game is gonna rock....  Like so many others...  I hope...  Still I will sit here and I will wait...

can anyone tell me how rate has got Onimusha by Famitsu? 35/40? 37/40?

even if it is a million copy\'s world wide it will be an achevment :D.
 but 1 million copys to a market like Japan , oh boy now we are talking, this could be even more evedence that that people who bough a PS2 did not was there money ...

i know for a fact that even though onimusha will be 1,000,000,000 seller, mgs2 will sky rocket over that limit and decimate it you will all se in amazment AND THEN x box junkies wil shuder at the power of ps2,those x box punks that destroyed tier ps2 will wish that day never happened lol

what i want to know is , whats that compaired to a PC game ,seeing that and (please don\'t flame) the PC is the closest refrence to the X box we have, infact some might even say it is too close , but hey that would start a flame war with the Trolls !

just said that so that i didn\'t upset PSX2central :laughing:.
