With the recent news of SEGA developing games for PS2 and also making ports of DC games. I for one (and i\'m sure many ppl would agree with me) would LOVE to see a port of SHENMUE to the PS2!!!!
Man that would f*ckin rock!!!!!
What do u lot think?
And is there some news on it that i just don\'t know?
-
I wish you would have called your post something different for a second i thought that shenmue WAS coming out for the PS2 and then relised it wasn\'t :(
Yeah i would like to see if to :)
-
cool yet another UK resident adds hisor her voice to the forum :D.
yeah they will port it across but only if
A) it makes them money
B) there be people with out a DC and have a PS2 , who are willing to buy it , or people who have a DC who want a PS2 version of the game :D.
C) A realy depands on B.
-
Well i\'m sure it would make SEGA money and i would definetly buy it as i\'m sure MANY PS2 owners would
-
oh also if SEGA ports this across to the PS2 they will have a larger fan base for the second SHENMUE game that will be released later in this year or the start of the next :D.
-
Well if they r making another SHENMUE then that will bring them in more money so they can port that one aswell.
I think they will port SHENMUE and SHENMUE 2 if SEGA r smart
-
thats not the end of it , by the looks of things Sony is the only one that is welcoming SEGA with oven arms, this could lead to even more old and new titles being developed for the PS2.
why don\'t SEGA and SQUARESOFT get together and release a kick @ss RPG.
-
i think it would be a great idea, and seeing as how they are now prting thier games over to ps2, take crazy taxi for example, they might make shenmu 2 for the ps2 cause isnt the forst one a dc exclusive? i think they will make 2 for it or another version of the first one, me, i am drooling by the fact that FSO might just come over to ps2 then it will be a better place for all ps2 goers
-
yeah that would rock
Maybe they could call it:
Final Phantasy Online
-
yeah all them online games on a broadband netWork i cant wait, but if your like me and live in the UK , we might have to wait a wile longer for everyone to get a broad band service.
Bloddy British Telecom   :crap:

Thats unfortunatly tru ooseven
Man the UK F*CKIN sucks
Can\'t wait till i\'m older and move to the USA
BTW where in the UK r u from?
-
Strathclyde in Scotland in fact i am about 20 miles way from Glasgow, but even though i am only about 5 miles way from the nearest town that has Cable or Adsl , BT haven\'t got up of the rear ends to bring it out my way :(.

I feel sorry for you ooseven
I live in Bristol in the South West of England
Doesn\'t it really piss you off that the USA and Japan always get evrything months b4 we do?
It F*CKIN sucks!!!!
-
yeah , but lets just think of them as our beta testers :D.
-
I like your thinkin ooseven, nice way of thinkin bout it.
But that is one of the main reasons i want to move to the USA when i\'m older because they get almost EVERYTHINg b4 we do in the UK
And its hotter and more opportunnities for jobs and sh*t
-
yeah . but that means you will have to cut all ties to become an american citizen :crying: don\'t do it  only jokein only jokein please don\'t flame US residents.
Don\'t worry man , us Brit\'s still get our developed games first, like Project Eden , Black and white etc etc etc....
-
How do u mean cut all ties?
And maybe we do get British developed games earlier but come on how many of them r there?????????
So considering i would say that the USA is considerably better.
Anyway seen as i\'m only 14 and wouldn\'t even consider movin till i\'m at least 21 i\'m not gonna think bout it too much

I just thought I would post this. It seems relevant to you statement about Sony and sega. CLICK (http://cube.ign.com/news/31486.html) I know it is from IGNCube, but it is still relevant.
BTW, UK has almost all of the cool tech toys. We yanks don\'t get much of anything until it is already a smash in the UK.(I was comparing some UK cell phones to my own and got pissed at how crappy my phone was compared to the UK one, and I have a $250 dollar phone mind you.)
-
I don\'t know if it will get ported or the sequel. But, I wouldn\'t be suprised to see the future sequels on the PS2. Remember, Shenmue is 16 chapters long, and if the Dc is dead after this year, that would leave alot of chapters un-finished.
-
sounds good, thanks for the link, but i have to say when it comes to the gamecube and RPG\'s , for some reason i cant see past ZELDA (God i love them games).
-
yea yall over in uk have just as many advantages as we do
its those japanese that are so dang lucky - they get almost all of our games and all the ones they get that we never see the light of day here and they get them earlier than us
oh well - back to topic -i have never played sen mue but it seems to be a great game from what i heard and if sega brought to the ps2 i might have to check it out
-
Hopefully they will release the final chapters on the playstation 2.
But dont count out gamecube or xbox~

You know what? I own a DC and I was so hyped up about this game so when I went out and rented it I thought it was going to be one of the best games ever made. Boy was I wrong. Sure it\'s all oppinion but this game didn\'t even come close to what I was expecting.
On the positive it was very NEW in design and the fighting at times was quite enjoyable. Oh I can\'t forget how much fun I had at the arcade room they had in the game. Fabulous graphics!!! Great music!!!
On the negative there was not enough fighting. And the biggest part of all is that it was too dang boring. Sure it got better at some points but then it just got boring again. In fact the first like hour of gameplay was almost umbearable. I almost returned the game to get a different one. Fortunately I didn\'t because it did get better, but still, this is probably one of the most BORING games I have ever played.
So my answer is that I could care less if this game is ported to the PS2. Hey, with a game with so much hype it will probably help Sega out a lot to port the game to PS2, but the resources spent to do that could\'ve been used on newer projects. I guess they probably should. I really hope Sega gets out of debt one of these days and finally starts making profits. They deserve it...

That would totaly reek of awesomeness if it was ported to PS2!

You have just violated and broken the copyright law that is assigned to Edge And Christian.
Vinnie Mac\'s gonna fry your arse :D

Boy you guys really don\'t keep up with the news.
In a recent interview with Bellfield, Sega confirmed that Shenmue 2 was going to be a DC exclusive - which doesn\'t bode well for the orignal making it over.
Check dc.ign.com for the news, it was confirmed along with the Phanstasy Star Online 2 sequel for the DC.
If you really want to play it, just pick up a DC for $99 and enjoy all the other awesome games on it. Why pay $50 for a PS2 version of Crazy Taxi, when you can get the DC version for $12 used, or even better, wait for Crazy Taxi 2 on the DC, which will cost less then the PS2 port of the year old DC game.
There are tons of benefits to owning a DC, I wonder why there are so many that still haven\'t gotten it.
