Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) Inc. announced today that NBA ShootOut 2001 from the 989 Sports development team is now available in stores, marking the first installment of the ShootOut franchise for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Designed to provide gamers with the ultimate NBA basketball experience, NBA ShootOut 2001 features stunningly detailed graphics, exciting true-to-life gameplay and a revolutionary new network-quality game presentation that blurs the distinction between game and on-the-court basketball action. NBA ShootOut 2001 also comes complete with a variety of camera angles provided by twenty-two cameras, play-by-play commentary from New Jersey Nets broadcaster Ian Eagle, extensive rosters including veteran and rookie players from all 29 NBA teams, authentic NBA playbooks, real NBA arenas, and the ability to play in the NBA All-Star Game, Playoffs and NBA Finals.
"Sony Computer Entertainment America is delighted to offer the most realistic pro basketball game on the market, NBA ShootOut 2001," said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. "Working within the expansive capabilities of the PlayStation 2, the 989 Sports development team produced an amazing end-result. The detailed graphics and improved gameplay make the latest version of ShootOut the best yet and we are confident that fans of the franchise and new gamers will all agree."

If it\'s anything like Gameday, or NCAA I do not want that crap! Stick with the EA stuff you\'ll be happier even though NBA Live isn\'t as good as the PS versions but Madden, FIFA, NHL are all awesome.

Let\'s wait and see:)

Is it from 989?, than it\'s probably not a very good game, cause every single sports game they put out on ps2 was ****ty!, If your considering buying the game at least rent it first.

just wait and see thats about all we can do..

heh. No offense, but with 989 behind the developers table with the game, lets just say, it needs a miracle to be even medicore.

I am positive that the next year\'s first party sports games will be MUCH better. 989 should have just taken the year off and put extra work into the 2002 games. If they do not put up a good game, Sony will probably get someone in there that can do a good job.
