Despite C&VGs less than enthuastic response to four pics posted yesterday I think that it looks like a very close conversion, my only complaint would be the lack of mouse/keyboard support and seemingly no support for online play - on the flipside that setup would probably benefit the 4 player option, Im quite eager to if Bullfrog can pull it off.

I thought it looked pretty bad considering all the great looking PS2 games coming out.
Mytheory is screw PC ports they\'re not worth the trouble cause they don\'t measure up to there PC counterparts 9 times outta 10
Games like Baldurs Gate and Drakan will be different cause they\'re entirely new games written especially for the PS2, and that makes all the difference in the world
I can\'t think of one PS2 PC port game I will buy.

Why is it everyday there is a mass postage of one topic, yesterday it was MGS2, today it is Quake 3...

I just think that fps games don\'t belong on consoles.Well that\'s just my opinion.

It\'s funny, the ports from PC to console or vice versa never happen to be worth while. Perfect examples are Quake III and Unreal Tournament. Not so much Quake III now, but Unreal Runs at 30fps at max, verses a Voodoo 3 or TNT2, can run at 640x480 with similar settings to PS2 at 60fps.
PS2 QuakeIII will never look as good as what I have on my Voodoo 5. I\'d like to see how FSAA will come into play with PS2 and QuakeIII running the details it is now. And for people saying FSAA isn\'t worth it in Quake III are gonna be wrong if QuakeIII is ported to PS2 with a bunch of jaggies:)

I\'d like to know what the point is in games like this without online play. No offense to anyone who enjoyed Unreal Tourament on the PS2, but I thought it was just boring without actual online play.
Games like this are made to be played online, which is why Quake 3 worked so well on the DC--Seganet saved it. Without an online network up for the PS2, I can\'t say as I see a reason to get excited about this game or any other FPS shooters.

I say boycott them, otherwise we\'ll keep getting half ass ports
I\'m not interested, in plain old ports

Amen to that. Developers should at least wait until the PS2 network is up for these games.
But it is a guranteed seller. The Quake name will sell alone, so they could care less.

or like I said above, Drakan and Baldurs gate are both originally PC games but both are being made sequels or original because the developers are fully developing the game from the ground up, and the difference in very noticeable graphically, and I\'m willing to bet the gameplay is much more console friendly
and yes FPS like Quake and Unreal are online games, it is absurd to force feed people these games in there weakest forms

Ports...are...gay...

yea i have to agree i really don\'t see the point of playing FPS unless they have a compeling first player story or game mode
otherwise if its meant as a mutlti player experince it needs to be on the net - and since we don\'t have the net for the PS2 yet we should stray away from these games - its a waste of money since they will rerelease about the same game with net compatiblity sooner or later

I think I\'ll consider buying Quake 3, be it a port or not. If it gets good reviews.
As I don\'t own it yet.
