Title: Oni\'s framerate...
Post by: Eaglepower on February 21, 2001, 08:15:50 PM
Sometimes its smooth, sometimes its choppy. This is the only thing that bothers me about Oni. The controls are hard, but when you get used to them, you really feel like you have accomplished something. This is one of the Best PS2 titles thus far.

I took it back and Got Rayman 2 instead and I was alot happier for it.

Oni should\'ve been so much more IMO. I don\'t understand how they could\'ve spent 2 years working on that game. Obvioulsy they didn\'t work any weekends, or late nights

I still think Madden/SSX are best titles out now, Theme Park: Rollercoaster is close though!

It had some framerate issues, though they weren\'t that common. It\'s main issue imo was its repetitive gameplay, and too infrequent save points.

Rayman 2... It\'s a great game :)

I thought about picking up Oni, but I picked up FFIX instead.

I think I made the right choice; but that\'s because I\'ve heard so much negative talk about the game here.

I would have to agree with TheOneBillyGun about Madden. Madden is the best game you can buy for your PS2, that is if you are a football fan, and I am, and this title is the reason I bought the PS2. I have played so much madden that I needed a change of pace. So up until last Tuesday, Madden 2001 was the only game I owned. Since Tuesday, I have been on quite a shopping spree. I have purchased; Tekken Tag, SSX, Midnight Club, Timesplitters, NBA Live 2001, Rayman 2 and Oni. Tekken, good game, but gets old really fast, thank God for that bowling mini-game. SSX, I think is the biggest disappointment, it recieved great ratings, but I would prefer Tony Hawk Pro Skater over this overated title. I know they are both different titles, but yet they are very similar. Midnight Club, this game is very fun for the first 15 minutes, but after a half-hour of playing the game, You\'ll kick your own ass for buying it, I took it back. Timesplitters, I should have known better. If I wanted to play an FPS, a genre I\'m normally not interested in, I would have bought Quake 3 for my PC. NBA Live 2001, I wanted to like this game, but after playing Madden 2001 non-stop since launch, NBA Live 2001\'s bad framerate, and lack of detail made me want to beat up my neighbor, just kidding. Rayman 2, this game has alot of potential. I just started playing it and I like it very much, so far. Oni, I\'ve played the PC version, its almost Identical to the PS2 version. I got the PS2 version, because I didn\'t want to buy another controller for my PC, and I\'m not going to use the mouse and keyboard. Oni, is the best game I have, next to Madden, Rayman 2 is up there somewhere. I could go on and on about how great this game is, but that would be a waste of time. I\'m not trying to convince anyone to pick this title up, I just bet that the reason most people don\'t like this game is because of the controls. Maybe I\'m special, I\'ve mastered them. I admit it was frustrating as hell at first when the controls were new to me. I stuck it out and practiced hard, I did the training sequence at the beginning probably twelve times. If you own the game, and have gave up on it because of the difficult controls. I suggest that you try doing the training mode several times until you get the hang of it, It makes a world of difference.
