Title: I paid $475 for a subwoofer
Post by: kirath on February 22, 2001, 08:30:40 AM
I think I spent to much money....  I was just wondering if there are any thoughts to this.  I bought a Klipsch KSW-12 subwoofer for $475   Its nice, but I think I may have made the wrong decision and I am contemplating returning it.  I was just wondering what you Home theater people out there would like to tell me...  Ahhhhhhh  :crap:

I just want some input as to what I should do...??  Arg. I don\'t know what to do.....

That\'s about right for a good subwoofer.  It\'s only too much money if the rest of your speakers cost 100 bucks.  As long as your speakers match and it doesn\'t overpower your others then great.

Video- :) Nice price!  Always a good idea to check out pricescan & mysimon for the bestest prices.

Klipsch is great but other brands you may wanna browse is Velodyne, Rel Stentor, Paradigm (specifically the Servo 15) and DIY Sonotube.  Those are just behomoths!

The best place to find good prices on speakers would be http://www.audioreview.com

People review the speakers there and give the places they bought them.

And thanks Videoholic, I did find it cheaper elsewhere, I am just skeptical about shipping a speaker like that.  I don\'t mind paying a little extra to have a place I can return it to.  Ok then.. Thanks

I have no experience with that brand but that does sound on the pricey side.  12" right?  Where did you get it from?

I got it from Tweeter...  I could get it cheaper on-line, but I don\'t like ordering stuff like this on-line to much.

well your original post said the price and asked for thoughts.  for 100 bucks I would have bought it online personally.  It\'s just a speaker and an amp.  If it doesn\'t work, then you send it back, they send you another.  Heck, half of my house is from online stores.  Although I have slowed down quite a bit since the Nasdaq dropped.
