DAP has got many bugs and problems in the PC... for me the best is Gozilla! (all accelerators has the same velocity +-) ;)

i use dap the most.. Less crap then Go\'zilla and getright.. It searches for other FTP/HTTP servers if it finds a the file your downloading it will download of more then 1 server also searching for the fastest ones. Quite good. :D

I have been useing DAP for any months now and it always works great. Even resums downloadsd when I lose my connection. Very nice when my 56k craps out with 30 seconds left on 80mb download.

I may be wrong about this so please correct if I am.  I was under the impression programs such as Dload XL actually download files in chunks.

For example, when XL starts downloading a 20mb file, it first searches for the mirror sites where that same file can be found.  Let\'s say 3 mirrors are found for a total of 4 sites housing the same file.  This is where XL really comes to use: it downloads the same file from the 4 different sites at the same time, and each chunk is a seperate part of the file.  You\'ll notice at the end of a really big download it will say "Building Output File..."

In theory this technique multiplies dload time by 4, but it\'s more like 2-3.5x as fast.  Whatever the case, it is much faster than Save Target As...

Yep. That\'s what i said. It downloads of more then 1 server at a time..

It does make chunks for files. Then it puts them together when its done. That can s@#t me sometimes. As 100meg files tend to take awhile to put back together. But it does help u download a lot faster. Seaching for the best Mirrors (http/ftp) then downloading of the fastest ones.. Very nifty program indeed.

I\'ve been using DAP for a long time now and its a great program. It can d\\l a file from up to 7 different sites at the same time and searches for servers with the lowest ping. :D
