I still think ssx is the best game out there right now, but I have lacked motivation to play lately after unlocking everything. Can everyone post their high scores? It would be something to shoot for. I prefer showoff mode. The only one I\'ve really put some time into is elysium alps so far. My best score was 1,003,860. Please post any ssx high scores here.
-
wow that score is excellent.
mine is only 390k
-
WOW! I thought my score of 538,836 was unbeatable but your score crushed it.
-
1,329,792
-
1497230497000
Then I woke up:D
-
1
all I got so far is 1 I suck
-
Wait I\'m lost here. How is possible to achieve over 1,000,000 points? If it\'s acheivable, how\'d you do it? My highest is 300K, but 3X\'s more than that is ridiculous, the time isn\'t sufficient enough.
-
If you hit a combo and get multiple point multipliers... you can hit a 100k move...
-
There is a certain path I take every time down the course which I think optimizes points. You need to get as many multipliers (don\'t miss any) as possible and pull off big jumps while getting them. The key to maximizing the points for me was not only flipping and spinning every turn, but tweaking the grabs (square button) while in the air. Holding the tweaks as long as possible is key. I think a tweaked experimental (unethical experimental) seems to give you the most points, so I end the big point jumps like this. BillyGunn I\'m not sure what you do, but I think even if I nailed every jump and didn\'t miss a thing on the board I could only end up at about 1.1 million, not 1.3 like you got. The most I\'ve gotten on a jump is about 85,000, so you must be doing something different.
-
Tweaking? That\'s what I\'ve been pressing, I DON\'T SEE ANY TWEAKING. Is it visible? I did various things with the SQUARE button and dammit I can\'t see it. My SSX CD is jacked, that has to be the only solution to my question.
-
Another thing, how in the world can you GET MULTIPLIERS like it\'s nothing? I\'m not doubting you, but I myself have to get luck to AIM it correctly, I mean it\'s all about timing, direction, speed, and you\'re telling me people could get these multipliers as easy as doing a 360 spin? Getting those is the hardest thing about the game. You could only get 300K points on the Tokyo level by collecting most of them.
-
Tweaking is visible, though you might miss the animation when spinning through a triple misty with mad speeds. First you do the grab, wait \'till the character has finished the grab animation, and then you press square. If you land it right there\'ll be an extra word or two in the trick name written in capitals. For example, if you do a Roast Beef grab, and tweak it, you\'ll get a Roast Beef JERKY. Or something like that :p
Getting the multipliers is quite easy... after myriad hours of gameplay and practising. I tried one run yesterday at Elysium and I only managed to score 470000 points. Some insane scores you guys got there...
-------------
EDIT :
Strike that previous score, my new record in Elysium is 550000.
-
If you keep taking the same path down the mountain, you\'ll eventually learn the best paths to take to get the multipliers. For example, there\'s a red (5X) multiplier above some billboards (along with an orange 3X multiplier) that seems kind of difficult to get. If you line up before it and aim in between the red and yellow areas and jump a little earlier, you will bang off the billboard and get the multiplier. If you keep spinning/flipping/grabbing, you should get around 80,000 points. A few jumps like this and your score will go up quickly.
-
I played SSX soo much when I first got it but after about 50 hours and 20 blisters later, I am done for a while.
My best was in the 800,000\'s
1.3mil!?! wow!
-
I tried that TWEAK (Square button) and I still can\'t notice a difference, I don\'t see it nor do I see it on the written moves. I tried everything, holding it down, anything I could do with the square button while on the air, before I land, you name it. It\'s ridiculous, I have to be missing something.
-
Just make sure you are NOT holding down the square button while in the air. First, do the grab. Wait until the grab is fully executed, continue to hold it, then press the square button. You will hear a small noise and definitely notice the difference in the move. Hope this helps. Please post high scores from other boards!!!

I have a question: it\'s probably dumb, but I never manage to get a triple misty \'n\' stuff, I have full stats, but my boarder doesn\'t spins so fast for some reason, can someone puuhhleeasse tell my what I\'m doing wrong?
-
In general, if you hold your prewind long enough before the jump, you should get the faster spin. However, I don\'t always get the fast spin either. I don\'t exactly know why, but I\'d like to figure it out too. I think your speed going into the jump probably plays a part in that. You should always get moving as fast as possible. Also, if you jump a little too late I think that can cause you to spin slower too. It may also have something to do with the turbo button. I turbo into every jump, but let go of the turbo because you must in order to set up a tweak. Maybe if you let go of the turbo a split second before you jump, this is what causes the slower spin. I will look into that because it costs me points every race. That extra spin adds over 50% more points to a given jump and makes a big difference over the course of a whole race.
-
yeah, these slow jumps are irritating, does anyone have a definite answer?
-
To do grabs while in tricks is what gives me the points and i press the shoulder buttons to do all sorts of tricks and rack up the points.
btw there is no point trying to get millions of points when u 1st put the game in because u got the **** boards and stats for em wait till u build up the best board and get all the multipliers then u should rack up a score like mine of 1,356,700 its not impossible but make sure u got a short board which is a trick board and not a long board which is a speed board!

I don\'t know if this has happened to anyone else before but once I actually fell of the map in Snow Dream. I went through a fence and just started falling into infinity, i managed to rack up something in the range of 10,000,000 points on one continuos trick. Took me quite a while too. Unfortunately there was no way for me to land the trick, so all my effort was wasted. This all happened on mi first or second time playing.
-
Happened twice in Pipe Dream. Pretty cool watching the track disappear above you. I wonder if this is captured in replay mode?
-
You all got me beat, i don\'t remember any of my scores. I\'m going to have to bust out SSX again soon. I\'ll probably have a week to kill in between the end of starfighter and the release of Ring of Red and Onimusha
-
okay, now I\'m getting pissed off here, I tried everything, but my boarder just can\'t spin that fast (I know it\'s possible, cause I\'ve seen it done on the psm2 disc), tell me exactly, and I mean EXACTLY what you do in and before a jump, for instance, take (superstar or better)kaori on the kaori board( the one with her name and picture) go to elysium alps and when you do the jump wwith the moving ramps (almost at the beginning, it\'s the second jump I believe). Now tell me every single thing you do! PLEASE!!!!
-
c\'mon guys, throw me a bone here!
-
I always use Mac because I think he is slightly better than Kaori (and far less annoying), at least for me. Use his best trick board (the one you open last). Another thing to do is play the game in \'single event\' mode, not \'world circuit\'. This will allow you to start over without having to quit and reload.
As for that 2nd jump.....Make sure you jump a little early on the first jump so that you can land on the hill and maintain your speed. I usually aim for the moving ramp on the left side, but it\'s up to you. You want to catch the ramp at the top of its cycle and definitely not on its way down. When I miss that (which is at least over half of the time), I start over because there\'s no point in getting off to a bad start. Anyway, as soon as you land on the hill after your first jump, start hitting the turbo button. Others may disagree, but I always tap on the turbo button a few times and then hold it. That seems to get me going the fastest. As soon as you are lined up for the jump, hold the jump button and continue to hold turbo. At this point, start your prewind. You want to line up the jump quickly because it is key to have a lot of prewind time. Let go of the jump button as soon as your snowboard hits the bottom of the ramp, and you will maximize the height you get off the ramp. If you are going fast enough, you should get the fast spin and the 3X multiplier. I\'ve managed to get in 4 rodeos for over 60,000 points, but you will want to get at least 40,000 points on the jump. I hope this helps...good luck.
-
thanks, I hope it herlps, it would certainly make the game a lot better!!
-
The length of your your prewind directly affects the speed of your spin; the longer you hold it, the quicker you will spin.
-
thanks guys, after having the game for 3+ months and already playing it through, I finally played the game the right way!!!
I finally did it, so it was the prewind button all along!
A new era of gaming arrives whoopdidoo!!!
