Title: Sega hasn\'t given up yet!
Post by: Mr. Kennedy on February 25, 2001, 09:27:50 PM
In fact they have something going for them since 1990...

Majesco has snatched the rights from Sega Toys to re-manufacture the Game Gear, Sega\'s color handheld originally released in 1990. The system has an MSRP of $29.99, and has been on Toys R Us shelves for a few weeks.

Majesco will also be re-releasing many classic Game Gear games under their name, which will cost $14.97 a pop.

The first carts set for re-release are the following:

Aladdin
Disney\'s The Lion King
Caesars Palace
Deep Duck Trouble
Ms. Pac Man
Pac Man
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Spinball
Super BattleTank
The Jungle Book
The Game Gear has a 3.2 inch, backlit LCD screen. The system is capable of displaying 32 colors simultaneously with four audio channels.

Gamegear was nice. Still have one somewhere, cant believe that nintendo wholuped it. Even though gamegear was in colour.

Isnt sony supposed to be bringing out their own verison of the gameboy.

Someone needs to challenge nintendo in that market !

With the GBA already reaching peak hype levels, it would be foolish for someone else to enter the market.

As for Gamegear, I saw one at Toys R us and almost bought one.  They were all sold out of the Sonic games already, so I\'ll wait until next time.  For 30 dollars, it\'s a steal.

yea my friend had a game gear - i don\'t know why but it just never seemed cool at the time - probaly becuase i was a big time nintendo fan when i was growing up and nothing could beat nintendo..nothing

but now that i am older and wiser i think that game gear is a lot better - i mean look at it - they did what nintendo is doing now with the GBC - Game Boy is way behind schedule if you ask me
