yea those pics look good as usual - but i think i have seen better pics
but i like no. 1 and 4 the most ahh the sunset reflecting on the cars looks cool

Wow, these are nice. My best friend has those rims shown in the first pic. Except his are chrome.
BTW, Why do you think realistic damage hasn\'t been added to the game?

The car manufacturers don\'t like to see their cars dented and in several pieces in a gutter. Well the European manufacturers that is. Most of the american manufacturers said they\'ve nothing against this, but it\'s enough to ruin the whole plan if one of the several parties included says no.
And this game looks so friggin\' sweeeeet :D And delayed. Goddammit, might be that I get my hands on this game in early 2002 thanks to the army.

Thats what I thought. What would you rather have realistic damage or licensed cars? I think the lincensed cars make the game that much better.

I\'d rather have licensed cars. Way back in the past a friend of mine recommended I should buy Ridge Racer t4. The game had no licensed cars, no damage (+ a shallow game) = I didn\'t like it. Getting all the cars in RRt4 is also a pain in the ass, just racing and racing the same tracks again and again... has someone actually collected all the cars in that game (without cheats), or am I going to be the first person to ever do it... heh...
It\'s gonna be a damn good year, WRC, GT3, woFusion, a dozen more racing games... now if all these games just lived up to our expectations :)

I must be sad as I\'ve collected all the cars without cheats. I just don\'t get it why don\'t the European manufacturers want there cars in games being damaged, this doesn\'t apply to films. what\'s the logic I mean they must think that it will damage there reputation & sales? how I don\'t know.

I think the basic idea behind this "Don\'t you freakin\' hell dent our car or we\'ll fix all the PolyPhony people so they\'ll need a good dentists to set their teeth back in again"-ideology is that, really, no manufacturer wishes to see their car being practically in several pieces along the road while a competing company\'s car whizzez by unscratched. That would make their car look bad in comparison. And that just isn\'t acceptable.
Or something like that :)

I bet that you\'re one of those people who has never had one positive thing to say about a game in your life. Of course those are replay shots; they are still the most incredible damn thing I\'ve ever seen as far as racing games go. What are you, a programmer or something? How can you possibly look at those shots, having ever played any of the other GT games, and say "Yawn...where are the textures on the cars?" Are you f@#%ing kidding me?

no, mm\'s just been playing video games for over 20 years now, and is rarely impressed anymore.
he wants to see graphics that out perform equally equipped PC\'s. those pics above look like crap compared to NFS porsche unleashed on the PC. even a chimp can see that.
mm\'s also pissed cause console game producers NEVER show "ingame" shots. why dont PC game ads do this? cause the ingame shots would look twice as bad
mm is just a cynic and a hard core critic by nature. the last game to impress and ingulf him was shenmue. before that, it was ffVII. good thing he doesnt do reviews. you wouldnt see anything but 1-2\'s, and 0\'s for anything nintendo pumps out. "quality over quanity" my hairy butt

I agree that the promo shots are always cinemas or replays, but come on...GT kicked some serious booty. Also, call me ignorant, maybe I\'ve been under a rock for the last few months or something, but what is Shenmue? It apparently is a mind-blowing game; what platform is it, PC or console? I wanna know more about this thing. Also, if those were the last games to blow your mind, then are you saying you weren\'t impressed by SSX or Madden for PS2? Hard to believe...I mean, I\'ve been playing games for about 17 years, and you have to retain your ability to have fun and have your mind blown...if not, what joy can you possibly get out of gaming? Also, how about Metal Gear Solid, Tekken 3, the first Resident Evil...Hell, I could go all the way back to Donkey Kong on the Colecovision. A new game to blow your mind, as well as fifty bucks out of your wallet without a fight, comes along just about every three months or so. Otherwise, I couldn\'t imagine moderating a gaming board. But anyway...

Those screen shots look outstanding as always but I just cannot agree with Porsche Unleashed on PC looks better than the screenshots above. I have played PU, this game is installed in my computer hard-drive and I can easily tell that the graphics look nowhere as good as what I have seen so far from GT3.
GT3 is the most beautiful game I have seen to date.

no game is worth 50$
i remember paying 2$ for atari 7800 carts out of the bargain bin from a store named Zaires, years back
im not saying i wont pay it, but i dont get 50$ value out of it
shenmue was released for the DC. did it have the best graphics? no. the best plot? no. the best gameplay? no. what it did have, tho. is attention to detail. little things that games like SSX and madden 2001 fail to include.
these two forementioned games, are fluff. nothing more. im not saying they arent great games, cause i own both of them, BUT they are not revolutionary by any means. same ole, same old, with better graphics, *yawn*
being a mod at a gaming site, are far more work than it seems. quite tedious at times. thats why i let used to let clyde post my thoughts for me. now, it seems, hes got a mind of his own. the monkey better gimme my pic back too

Let\'s be dead honest about one thing before anything goes any further here: fifty bucks isn\'t that much any more. I am by no means wealthy, but I will throw out fifty bucks on a video game with little more than a second thought now. I remember when it was a big deal to charge that much for a game. When Super Mario Bros. 2 came out for the NES, it cost fifty bucks at my local Sears. This was a long time ago, and the price has gone up here and there (mostly b/c of Nintendo, I\'ll grant you), but has pretty much leveled off. I have seen a game or two in the last couple of years that was $60, but for the most part, in the last ten years, fifty bucks is the standard price for a game on whatever system is newest at that time (barring the utterly ridiculous Neo-Geo, that is). When you were rifling through the bargain bin at Zaire\'s, mm, those games were probably a year old. More to the point, the 7800 lasted about six months, if I remember correctly. Atari had no idea how to manage the video game business after the 2600. Don\'t even get me started on their lack of support for the 800 XL computer...
That being said, my point is that the fifty bucks is more or less irrelevant at this point to people like us, mm, who have been playing video games for most of our lives now. What makes for a revolutionary video game? You call SSX fluff, and perhaps it is; it is a game about fake snowboarding, after all. But, I got it the day of the launch, and I can still pop it in and find a new way to do a bigger trick over a jump I didn\'t quite know existed before. In short, I can still pick it up and have fun with it. It is not breaking any new ground for humanity, but after all, it\'s a freaking video game. We all grow up, which is probably why you haven\'t had any fun since the Genesis days; I suspect we are not that far apart in age. But if you can\'t have fun any more, I am juat puzzled as to why you are so deeply involved in the gaming industry.

NFS5 on PC looks like crap compared to GT3.
I mean NO detailes! Very few polys on the bulidings and surroundings.
And UNREALISTIC! (I own the game so I know)
GT3 rulez! Both on graphics and gameplay!

yes, those pics do look better than the ones originally posted, as they show more background.
the cars still look bland to me.
cringe, those 2$ games were brand new. right when the market crashed, but not my care when i was 7. 50$ is not alot of money to me either, but its not the amount thats the concern. its the principle.
im so deeply involved cause im like an OG in the gaming community. im here as a constant. i dont buy into the "hype" of anything. be it, sony, sega, nintendo :rolleyes:, or xbox. i highten expectations and lower realizations

yes, but you must not forget that back in those days making a game was far cheaper, simply because they were easier to make (bad graphics and stuff)

the companies bacj then didnt have scriptors, 3d modelors, animators, dozens are artists, etc etc. but what they did have was gameplay. id rather play "river raid", or "xevious" on my atari 7800 than 90% of the trash they pump out now for 50$ or more.

honestly, ive never been excited about screenhots for any game. ever wonder how many filters they use on the screenshots?
i wont make my opinion of the game, untill i play it. this is the only true way

I didn\'t mean you should judge a game by screenshots (I can see they are souped up here and there.....cars are a bit too slick) but I\'m sure you\'ve seen more of it than just screenshots

yeah, i watched a movie of the replay sequence. again, i wasnt impressed. untill i put the disk in, press power, and drive around in it in 1st person view, i wont make any judgement.

If you mean the cote d\'azur, I don\'t think so, since it\'s most probably the formula 1 track that races through the city.
