Title: MGS2 DELAYED!!!!!!
Post by: Ethan_Hunt on February 28, 2001, 10:26:06 AM: It is in for a Feb 2002 release here in the UK,So i am not sure what the release is for America.
I carnt beleive this game,it is taking the piss big time!!!!!!
By the time it comes out,it isnt going to be anything new,i think by that time you will see alot more games at the same and beyond MGS2 level of development.

Post by: Zavijava on February 28, 2001, 10:36:34 AM: I heard somewhere that Konami said that they will release MGS2 later on in this fiscal year. Which, in the worst case senerio, could be Feb. or March 2002. And by that time you\'d hope that it be everything, and more, than what we are expecting.

Post by: xenith on February 28, 2001, 10:56:19 AM: Anyone know if the Jp release will have an option to turn subtitles & menus to English. I know Hideo said there would not be English voice option as there was just to much, apparently there is over 4 times the amount of speech than in MGS. The reason I ask is that I have a Jp PS2 on most games this isn\'t a problem, but I would just miss so much of what was going on effecting my full enjoyment of the game.

If it doesn\'t I hope buy the time it comes out there\'s a chip that lets you play all region dvd games then I can buy the American or English release which ever comes out first.

Post by: Hawke on February 28, 2001, 11:21:54 AM: I really hope they get Hayter (who in an interview said he might have to decline because he\'s working with several films and stuff). He IS the Snake. Any other voice actor could easily ruin the experience.

Actually, this is good news, I was afraid I\'d be swearing my heart out, traipsing through the great Finnish forests in the army while everyone else plays the game. Now it\'s just dandily available when I get out of that silly place, yay :D

Post by: espo on February 28, 2001, 06:44:03 PM: If MGS2 comes out in 2001 for Japan, it WILL come out in 2001 for the US also. From all the interviews I\'ve read Hideo states that he\'s main audience is the US. Mainly because the Japanese did not accept MGS as much as the US.

And I wouldn\'t doubt if they ended up pushing it back even farther to compete with the new Zelda title slated for Summer 2002.

But all is good, from what reports are saying, this game will be the ****. Just think, it gives them more time to think of ways to consume your time... Besides, it\'s not like FF10 isn\'t coming out this year or anything. At least you\'ll have one BIG game.

mood. Until I read this f*ckin news on CVG uk.
So, here we go again : Europe gamers get are getting
f*cked up again !
It really makes me furious and sad. And be aware :
this is not only bad for us Europe PS2 MGS fans, but
it\'s also bad for PS2 in Europe I tell you !
This is one more reason for ppl to not stick with PS2
or to buy another console !
This is just not any good for the European PAL PS2.
( what\'s the reason BTW it gets delayed ?)

Anyway, WHILE YOU GUYS WHINE ABOUT MGS2, I WILL BE PLAYING TWISTED METAL:BLACK :laughing:! Haha

Emp Rob, I wouldn\'t be holding my breath for that Dec release. It\'s most likely going to be next spring.

So Japan and U.S. , join the Europe club !
Still, if they work on it til Febr 2002 they\'d better
make the game at least twice as good as they intended it
to be.

And I\'m pretty sure they will get it out by then. Second of all they better get Dave Hayter for the US voice actor or else it will totally ruin the experience. Don\'t worry, if it really comes down to it Konami will offer him all the $$$ he could ask for in exchange for doing the voice acting. Besides, who wouldn\'t wan\'t to be Solid Snake???
