 Why is it in ANY racing games there is no driver in the seat! Except for NFS: Porche Unleashed. why ?

I really don\'t see the need.

Maybe in games like GTA3 and the Getaway but in just plain racers why waste the poly\'s

Absolutely agree with mm above.  If you don\'t use the in-car view in a racing game, you just aren\'t playing it correctly...it makes you feel like you\'re actually driving the car (or it should, anyway).  Playing any other way is just wrong.

Correct me if I\'m wrong, but didn\'t one of the last Need for Speeds allow you to see the in-car drivers?  Of course, if memory serves, this was only for hardtops...if you chose a convertible...no person was visible...

Also, thought you see the in-car drivers in Codemasters\' [they make the most excellent driving simulators] Jarrett & Labonte Racing.

Anyway...tired, but I think these examples offer in-car drivers.

No Drivers ??? Well, look at F1 Games... :D ...or the new WRC from SONY !
There ARE Drivers in GT3 !!! Most cars are LHD and you have to look very carefully... But through the dark glass you can see a "shadow" of the Driver !

I have the GT3 demo and there are definately drivers in the car, they are just hard to pick out because of the semi-transparent windshields.

Another PS2 game with fully modeled drivers is Top Gear Daredevil.  It is quite hilarious actually to watch the little guy in the car steering frantically as you make your way down the street bashing into everything in site. :)

Other games coming out will surely have drivers in the seats but I have to agree, unless you are driving from a 1st person perspective you just aren\'t playing the game properly.  Oh, you\'re also a wussy if you use automatic instead of manual :p

It doesn\'t bother me really if a driver can\'t be seen in GT3..im more interested in the Control,handling and of course Ilink mode.

F1 games? I never heard of any F1 game without the drivers..that would be funny .

Anyway Australian F1 Race on march 4...anybody is going to watch the live telecast?
