Title: PS2 network palace.
Post by: Bossieman on March 04, 2001, 09:15:55 AM
Me and a couple of other friends are thinking about a idea.
Here in sweden there is alot of places that has 20-50 computers. Internet , networkgames a.s.o. Those places are doing well. it is really hard to get to play at those places, there is always people there 24 hours a day.
We were thinking of opening a PS2 network palace. With about 30 PS2 connected together in a network.
The potensial of GT4, wipeout online and FFXI this cant fail.
We are going to write a letter to Sony about this Idea and see if they are interested.
Have anyone else thought about this?
Do U have ideas about what to have in this PS2 palace?
please give your thoughts and opinion of this.
This is what we have thought of.

1. cheap, about 1$ per hour, or 15 for 24 hours.(members gets even better prices, buy for a whole month a.s.o)
2. Able to buy: hotdogs, coca cola, sandwishes and candy.
3. Good earphones, big monitors or good TVs.
4. Tournaments, like U win 1000 $ if U win this weeks GT4 tournament.
5. printers and all other perihipals U can think of.

Youll need titles which support linking machines up but it would be a great idea - not many people want to cart their PS2 over to a friends house along with their TV to linkup, it would be a great way to get everything in the one place. The reason it works so well on the PC is because there is such a large variety of network games that can be played, from FPS games such as Quake 3 and Counter Strike to high end flight sims like Falcon 4 theres a huge variety of titles to choose from, that I think might be the main problem with it.

yea sounds cool and like it could work

but for one those games are still aways away

also you may want to make it like 5-10 bucks an hour or 50 bucks for a day if you want to make a profit

also if you have a tournamet i suggest that reward be a game bundle or maybe 100 bucks - 1000 is way too much money

well that my opinion but it sounds like it would be cool to me

sounds very intersting, but square is already planning someting like this in japan

have you seen the s[ecial network ps2?? that one is going to use for the ps2 network/arcade/online plans from square/namco and sega

this means that ps2, pc , network and arcares can play together, sounds great
