Title: Monster Cable\'s digital fiber optic audio cable... worth it?
Post by: datamage on March 04, 2001, 08:28:11 PM
I was in Best Buy today with this sucker in my hand.. ($29)

I\'d like to know how much better it sounds than normal analog audio.. cause I know they hype what it says on the cover. I have a capable DD/DTS receiver, but @ the moment I only have two front speakers and a sub-woofer.. Will I still benefit from obtaining these cables? TIA. :)

Buy a normal cable not the Monster...
It´s much to expensive and you will have only a benefit with an upper class
equipment !
Normal S-VHS or Optocables are good enough ! BUT you should get an Optocable if
you don´t have one !!! I think you will find some for 20$ or so, after that you shurely
will buy 3 more speakers ! :D
You will get an cinema like sound out of it: PS2 (DVD), Optocable, DD/dts Receiver
and 5 speakers (6 with sub) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
