I heard that there is something you can switch on,but i dont know what it is.
If anyone else knows let us know.
The only other thing you can do is press start for 2 secs, then press it again and it should be o.k.

do you mean there is a gap between the moving of the mouth and the text being said?
cause if that\'s the case, I noticed it too, pretty annoying isn\'t it?
dunno if there\'s a cure for this, maybe it\'ll get fixed with one of the updated drivers that are on new disks

Well if it is fixed or improved by a cd update i don\'t think that will help me out. Mine is a PAL unit - if i understand right only the Jap version has dvd software on memory card?

Unless its possible to flash the inbuilt driver?

Who know? But i hope it can be fixed.

Cheers for the comments though guys, at least im not on my own with this one.

what you gotta do is if it does that then, switch on diagnostics in the main screen when you turn it on and it will take care of it, but it only hapened to me 1nc when i was watching final destination.

as soon as sony releases thier remote "if they ever release it in the U.S." it\'s gonna come with an update disk, as well as new features, slow motion, freeze frame, etc. wich i think is pretty phat, i hope they release that freakin remote soon.

Pausing (then resuming) playback on the title will knock the soundtrack back into sync, Ive found it to be quite common - I expect Sony will fix this with new drivers at some point.

Title: DVD freezing
Post by: on March 06, 2001, 06:16:25 PM
My playstation2 has been out of sync for sometime.  It had become worse and worse and now my console freezes at some point when I play DVDs or games.  It really pisses me off now!  I\'ll be calling Sony about it, but I am wondering if anyone has the same problem.  BTW my Playstation2 is now 3 months old.  I had an orignal 1001 model Playstation1 for 5 years, which was considered finicky, but never this bad!

Is it the DVD\'s fault or the PS2\'s fault?  Anybody willing to venture a guess?  Hmm... I assume most f you already know the answer...

57(isn\'t it apparent I\'m waiting for something?)

See if it happens both in analog and digital modes.  I don\'t know what you could do with a consumer model but  the cinema processors have a digital sound head delay that you can adjust to sync it up... just a tidbit there.
Title: Troubleshooting the PS2 to death
Post by: on March 06, 2001, 07:55:35 PM
Believe me, I\'ve run the PS2 with the Analog off before.  It is very strange.  DVD movies will play for a short while, then static will display on the screen and finally it just freezes and you can\'t do anything but reset the console.

Games will generally run up until you select options and play the game. Then it will freeze too.

I own 6 games and 20 DVDs and all have the same effect.  And from what I learned about my PS1 I keep the console away from anything that generates heat (IE. Other electronics or heaters).  I also prop it up off the shelf with two boxes to allow air to cool the bottom of the console.

I wonder if there is a problem with processor handling too much information.  It runs smoothly up until a certain point.  It was even apparent when the synchronization was off, you would have to pause the console to get everything in sync again.
