Hi just read this review and its a miss...

2 baddies, not many moves and only 6 hours to complete the game.
I did warn this could happen in a previous thread. So thats two hyped titles (bouncer and ZOE) which will both probably be disapointing :(.
If you still want a mech game you could get ZOE for the demo I suppose but it might be better getting Gun Griffon Blaze where everyone has said its either good or very good, except its a tad on the short side but least its fun and not boring. Thats what I probably get now.
Anyway major disapointment with ZOE :( not that im saying its bad but with the comments in that review it obviously hasn\'t lived upto its hype just like the bouncer didn\'t.

me not like this, but I\'m still gonna give it a chance, cause I for one dig graphics, and I\'m almost sure I won\'t be as dissapointed as those guys over at dailyradar.
they usually post a lot of crap anyways, and they are just spoiled, because they always get to play all the games, oh well, let\'s wait till when we can judge for ourselves

Look i dont take any notice of reviews nowerdays,if i like the look of a game i get it,and i know i will like this game.
I mean i have read loads of impressions of the MGS2 demo and they have all been thumbs up,then i go on to gaming-age today,and they said that it didnt live up to the hype,but i know that i will love that demo too.
So just go out and buy the game,if the game was 12 hours long people would probably get bored with it,so i really wouldnt take any notice.
If all dailyradar can do is critacize,then i say they should take a look at there website,and they should sort that out.

Well I actually respect DailyRadar\'s reviews as they are able to call a hyped game bad if it is actually bad.
It would be best to judge for ourselves but I don\'t think theres a chance that ZOE won\'t be disapointing if the comments wrote by DailyRadar are true (and why shouldn\'t these coments be true).
Either way this is bad news :(

I think Daily Radar is a little harsh on its reviews. I don\'t pay attention to bad reviews. I know that I am going to enjoy this throughly. No one will be able to sway my decsions. Reviews are just people\'s opinions. Everyone could post their reviews of a game. Just because someone works at a videogame site doesn\'t mean it is engraved in stone. That is why I never read reviews. Hell will freeze over before I choose a game due to Daily Radar\'s opinions.

I accually think Dark Cloud will be pretty good. Then TW: Black. Then GT3. I will like all these games no matter what. Out of these game Gt3 will be the best.

I still don\'t believe people when they say they didn\'t enjoy Shenmue. And I lost all interest in reading a certain Magazine when they gave Shenmue a 7 and Jet Grind Radio a 6. BAH!!

Resident Evil takes about 2 hours once you know what your doing. Onimusha under three. So I really don\'t care to much about their review because I\'ll judge for myself. It\'s not an RPG. It doesn\'t have to be 20 hours long.

People also say that Dynasty Warriors 2 is a shallow game.
Anyone who has played that game for more than an hour knows otherwise.
I loved that game.
When I heard about Zone Of Enders, I wasnt expecting the "Game to End all Games", I was just expecting a good mexh game, and so far thats how everyone has said it is.
It seems like certain reviewing sites are expecting everything that comes out for the Playstation 2 to be pure gold and when its not, they are overly critical.
This is what I call Final Fantasy 8 syndrome.
If you look at FF8 as a RPG instead of as a Final Fantasy game you will find a deep, fun to play game.
If you look at it as a Final Fantasy game, a series that has(up until then) to dissapoint, then the game wont be nearly as good, because it cant live up to others,
and when it couldnt they bashed it from here to eternity.
I hate it when people do that.
Play a game to have fun, not to make sure its revolutionizing the industry.

- I trust DR about as much as I trust GamePro. That is not at all. Ugh!
- Reviewers are human. They will vary greatly. Take it with a grain of salt.
- DW2 was boring, in my personal opinion. Let me rephrase actually; I thought it was the "****" for like 10 mintues then I realized I was bored to death at oh, about 120 deaths..:rolleyes:
Thats just my opinion. I predict ZOE will kick ass and I am not saying that cause of the MGS2 demo--as I detest MGS!

So what good games are left? Bouncer....no. ZOE...no. You still got Onmimusha and GT3 on the way so be thankfull that not all the over-hyped games are crap.

If DR says the games sucks then it must be true. These guts are totally owned by Sony and they rarely give PS2 games bad reviews unless their horrible.

ZOE has been regarded by the Japanese and many online sites as an awesome game - i think i will trust the majority on this one

you guys gotta remember there is a TRUE difference between fighting games, beat em ups, and mech games.
If a mech game is short, and one player, what are you supposed to do after you have beaten the game twice in one night?
If a beat em up is short, you can always get friends to play and have a helluva fun time killing the baddies, but this will only last until the next multiplayer game comes out. It doesn\'t even have to be good, just multiplayer. example - Ergheiz 2 years ago, but then we immediately dropped it for Medal of Honor (i love this game!). It always happens.
for a fighting game it is different for everyone. for me, it is being the best, not on computer,t hat is too easy, even on level 9, now adays. The fun part is mastering your skills, techs, counters, throws etc and using them int he arcade every weekend to become arcade master. Of course, you have to have a really large arcade for that. which I have. Some people just don\'t get tthe premise of fighting games. The p1 vs. com mode is only there to fine tune your skills, it is never a good model (except for VF2\'s learning AI) of how you will play against real people. Don\'t buy fighting games unless you have friends or foes who will play you with as much ambition as you!
So IMO, mech games suck, and all beat em ups suck (except Double Dragon 2 and SoR3! ahh the memories:))

also, I should note. I don\'t think DR is one to only play the game for a few seconds. SonyWeb probably played it for the minimum time required to not sound like a bunch of idiots, and then slapped a 9 out of 10 on it, because in those fifteen minutes, I bet this game is worth it, but how about a week down the road? I bet you right now they are back to Smackdown 2 or something gay like that.
Famitsu is crap. They have been since giving SC a perfect score, I knew they had gone off their loony bin and I have seen many ****e scores from them because they are idiots. They gave Tony Hawk like a 20 out of 40!! Imbeciles!

But seriously,these guys are biased. They give almost every PS2 game a good review but not this one. Strange. Maybe they\'re having a bad day, or maybe the game just sucks...

The Japanese and Americans have different tastes on games... And Famistu(sp?) gave it an average review.

I think Zoe is still a very good game ( well, I haven\'t played it, but it still interests me ), and I don\'t get down because of one review.
But I never expected ( either ) that Zoe will be a messiah-game. If it were, every site would have given it good points no matter what.
But actually, I usually don\'t mind reviews that much. Only when every reviewer gives a game 4-6 points, then I reconcider ;)

and to answer your question i do not like DR - and i don\'t visit their site often
AlteredBeast Famitsu gave tony hawk 2 that score becuase skateboarding is not very appealing over there - hell i love madden but the japanese don\'t its a matter of culture

As dor systems I have, a PS2.... Unfortunate for me I have a wife, a kid, rent, food , utilites, 2 car payments, school paymet, child support, etc....
I\'ve rented a DC twice, I rented and N64 1/2 dozen times and I plan on buying an Xbox

One review = ****ty game? Haha, you people are funny. Has anyone else even READ the review? It got a miss because it was repetetive? I suppose Tetris is repeptetive because all I do is drop blocks, but that doesn\'t mean it\'s any less fun, and then I suppose Mario is repeptetive because all I do is smash goombas and save a princess right? Yet, both are regarded as the best videogames that pioneered all generations preceeding it. Sheesh, these guys are sad. It\'s almost as bad as reading a review of a Sony game on a Nintendo forum.
it\'s a page of bash worthy of a rating titled "DUD" rather then miss. Don\'t get me started on their 4-option rating system covering their scores. A fuggin dud is a game from 1-3, a miss is a game from 4-6, a hit is a game from 7-9, while a direct hit is a game from 10 to about... oh... well geez, that\'s about it isn\'t it? Does anyone else see a flaw here? This thing is a miss, but it\'s not a DUD, does anyone wonder why? There was obviously SOME joy when they played it to detract from the crapiness that they describe whole-heartidly in their review yet fail to mention.
Is the story any good? When does the graphics shine the most? What kind of enviornments are there? Are all the enemies the same? What other techniques can they use? How is the AI? Are you a lamer and if so, are you only pissed off because you repeated the gameplay you played in the demo that you beat till it was a dead horse? I jump on goombas, eat flowers and fly, but I do the same thing for an entire game yet I am considered a Direct hit... who am I? Jesus, everygame is repetetive when you break it down, it just seems like this guy picked on it because he had to play it 6 times in a row. R-e-T-a-R-d. That\'s all I have to say about that.

Wow I never seen so many people over react. One bad review..and now we have people already claiming its going to bomb..and how its going to suck. What ever happened to just playing a game and deciding for yourself whether its good or not. When did we let people decide what we like and what we think will suck. Shenmue got a horrible review from Videogames.com..probably the only site I know of that gave it such a low score..yet people bought it..and everyone I know that has it has said postive things for it.
And dont listen to what people say...98 percent of the people here never played the game.

I really think DR UK is a joke. They rarely have any decent news, and they are constantlt reporting on rumours. Remember when they reported on the first screenshot of Naughty Dog\'s secret game? And then after the entire game industry reported that the screenshot was fake they did another feauture on it with a second screenshot!
Any shred of respect I ever had for their journalisim was gone right there. The only reasons I ever visit their site is for the ocasional (real) screenshots of Uk games that they get before anyone else (getaway, wipeOut, WRC).
And if you\'ve ever read any of their other reviews you\'ve probably realized how completely lost these guys are. They never seem to back up their bad reviews with any solid examples and they\'ll usually just bash (or praise) a game based on only one element of it.

We have to remember opinions are personnal...ZOE got good reviews from other sites, and testers are
only humans too...
There has been a lot of hype around ZOE, perhaps the guy who reviewed it was in some bad day,
perhapshe didnt like that kind of game, there are plenty of reasons to explain this rating.
I think as well that some people really expect too much of a game, especially hyped ones. After all, it\'s
only a game....I mean if I get stuning graphics, good gameplay, fast action, decent storyline...what can I
ask for more?
Developpers can\'t recreate the world at every minute...DR UK found it boring, but most of the games are
sometimes repetitive. Take SSX, one of the best rated games : I love it, but if you think about 1mn, you\'re
always doing the same thing : taking speed, preparing your jump, making tricks, and so on... Is it boring?
No, because it\'s challenging, backgrounds graphics are always changing, it\'s fast and fun.
Yesterday night, I had a lot of fun with a friend of mine, playing Timesplitters, after a while we couldnt stop...
but it\'s always the same thing, gunning, gunning, gunning.....But my friend was amazed by the game, it was the first time she played a FPS, after a while getting used to the controls, she was screaming "Yeaaaah it\'s
so good, gunning everywhere, wow its awesome, yeah yeah yeaaaaaah I shot him, that damn moter..."
Ok I have to end this long post, anyway, I dont expect as much from ZOE thant MGS2. I know ZOE will be
a good game, it may be repetitive, but it will be fun anyway.
Oh, and to conclude, I remember something from the DR review (about having to find a gun, then a code,
going every area to find it, fighting again...) : well, that sounds cool to me. Even if the searching looks basic,
that\'s enough for me.
It\'s a game. It\'s not James Ellroy\'s last book.

Nobody should even follow what video game sites say anymore about game reviews. They are just like movie critics... biased. Oh well i saw a jaggie there and it was ugly ohhh knock a point off. For true game reviews I would recommend listenening to people on gaming forums or visiting game websites that are made by average everyday videogame fans, the ones that make the sites because they love the games not for money.
And just because i have my own site (very very bare and amaturish at the moment) and forums is not why I am posting this.
Did you see the new feature on daily radar ? You can use one of their piece of sh!t poorly written articles on your own website for something like 600 bucks a month or some crazy sh!t

Who cares what DR UK has to say, maybe they have bad taste about fun mech games like Z.O.E.I will probaly like Z.O.E it wont be like the bouncer.It still has awsome graphics.The Japanese people liked Z.O.E.Im sure this will be good and Sony will still make alot of money from Z.O.E because of the MGS2:SOL demo. :laughing:

Ok, I think everyone here should sit down while I tell you this....Sitting? ok. THE WORLD ISNT OUT TO GET SONY! Or take your PS2 away from you and shove a Gaycube in your hands. The people reviewing those games are gamers too, just like you and me. They wanted the game to be great too. I highly doubt they want Sony to not sell as many copies of ZOE and thats the reason they gave it a bad review. They are simply giving their opinions on a game to warn other people who might have gotten caught up in the hype (as a few have...). Its up to each of you to decide if the game is a good game or not. Just because they gave it a miss doesnt mean its bad. It just means that if you dont like short game, maybe you should avoid this title and only rent it. Just remember, the only credibility that DR has is the cred you give it.

cloud - no, this article isnt bull crap, since many others believe me, that YES, a hyped game can be crap. Look at Daikatana.
and Phil, I don\'t know if that was a crack against me, because, YES, I could beat it twice in one night, I have Test Drive: Le Mans and HAVE done the 24 hour straight race thing, and I have played PSO 12 hours straight as least. 14 hours isn\'t a hard thing to do when the game is really fun to play. Sadly, it is my opinion that the game will be VERY fun, but only for the first couple hours, after it is probably the same old, same old. I mean, how boring do you think TD got aroundthe 18th or so hour? Yikes!

DailyRadar UK has to be the worsed site for looking at reviews and infact any other information.
This Reviws proves something that i have known for a long time, Don\'t Beleve anything you read in Daily Radar UK.
it\'s strange that there sister hard copy Mag PSM2 gave the ZOE and MGS2 game pack a 90 and the game it\'s self a high 80.
thats the problem with the internet side of thigs any fanboy can get a job :laughing:.

i always go by IGN.com\'s reviews/previews and they played Z.O.E and all they had to say was good news!...i think if they scored it it would have gotten a 9 or a 9.5! :)

yeah IGN is a good source for reviews and previews , infact most of the time you should only read a review when you want a out line of a gmae, you can never tell if you WILL like a game by what someone else has said.
So therefore
