dang i have no idea what your were talking about - i am confused
also i though this thread would be about Final fantasy IX
guess i should have reliezed it after there was no other "F" in the "FIX"
oh well - would you or someone elighten me on what this is about, please?
thanks
-
so if you ground that pin on the ps2 motherboard then rgb cables will work with ps2...I think that\'s what EYE is trying to get across..:D
-
Right... and it turns off that Macrovisions $hit !!!
See http://www.gamefreax.de for more infos...
-
RGB cables... are they component cables???
-
No Billy, RGB is obtained through a scart lead. Mmm be nice to see if this works, anybody willing to sacrifice their PS2
in order to help us out.... i can do this modification no problem, it\'s just that i dont want to be the first person to try it
out and have a sizzling box of plastic and silicon sitting beneath my tv :D
Let us know if youv\'e tried this out. RGB playback on DVD\'s will be worth it
-
According to GAMEFREAX it works !!!
They never told $hit in the past...
I´ll "fix" my PS2 in 10 month - because of the warranty !
Again - look at their HP and into the Forum...
-
Mmmm, The warranty thing is kinda distracting eh? i am quite willing to do it though. well i\'ll probably wait for a while and see what occurs.
Also the wife helped me pay for it so i have to see what she thinks 1st, but i\'ll give it some thought.
-
I\'ll do it!!! But where is the GND? Someone write me a step by step and I\'ll do it!!!!
-
Look at the picture! if you can\'t understand it then i suppose that you\'ve not done this sort of thing before...
Ok. look at the picture and locate the two points on the board marked by a red circle. the lower one is the GND
make sure you scratch off some of the green coating to reveal a metalic surface on which you can solder.
Look at the picture and you will see....

Stanzo, I have so calm down. Anyway, thanks for your interpretation of the diagram. It is NOT a clear one if you are used to electronics. I have now done the modification and I can announce that I am watching DVD through an RGB signal.
-
Soo hard to resist.
[little voice inside]
Don\'t do it nO-One,DON\'T
[/little voice inside]
ehh I\'ll make my coworker do it to his Ps.2
-
I would do it if I had an RGB connection somewhere..
Right now I am using my component inputs on my Tv and it looks sweet... :D
-
so what the hell is the difference between component and rgb??, wat the hell is macro vision?? where the hell do you get rgb cables for your ps2?? and what the hell do you mainly get out of this procedure??? i know the answer but i mean is it that much better?
-
so this has no effect on the Americans???

Ok, Sorry for my rant. How long did it take you to mod your PS2 and what is the picture quality like now on DVDs
also is this a uk machine that you\'ve modded?
-
Stanzo:
I have modded the UK version of the ps2 and it now works using RGB. The picture quality is a lot sharper than component and I recommend you doing it if your are competant with soldering. A easier way to ground (GND) the pin shown is to solder the wire you are using onto a grounding plate on the motherboard. This plates look like a rectangle shaped flat bed of solder.

Ok, Thanks rlau, i\'m still not sure in what to do but i think temptation will get the better of me.
I also have an S-video lead and the picture quality is a lot better than composite, but i still get a little
dotcrawl. Mmm what to do?.?.?.?.?
-
Same here... :D
But I´ll wait my 12 month ! You never know...
