Will the Horizontal stand help absorb some of the vibration coming from the PS2 as it loads games?

Probably just a little.  If you want you can try to put a pillow case sheet under it.  Something not plastic or metal will help.  I don\'t know how much it will help though.

i honestly thought having it horizontal, mnake it sounds like it vibrates more, when its vertivle i hear less sound thatn when its horizontal, cause less of it is touching the surface.

some local game store owner told me not to use a vertical stand at all he said 90% of the ps2 returns were caused by the vetical stand

I don\'t use my vertical stand anymore due to the grinding noises it made while trying to read discs in that position. It sure does look cool that way though...:)
