Title: Favourite Horror Movie
Post by: Crippler on March 10, 2001, 03:49:33 PM
As you can see mine is Halloween (duh :) ). Horror has died over the past few years, but this year looks sweet with red hot sequels Halloween 8, and Jason X which I am looking the most foward to.

The best horror movie would be a movie about Silent Hill. And after everyone see\'s how great Silent Hill 2 will be a SH movie will more than likely become a reality.

Halloween freak.;)
I\'ve got all the Halloweens, including 2 bootleg directors cut of Halloween 6: Curse of Michael Myers and Halloween : H20. Then I got a huge Michael Myers doll still in the box, that plays the theme song when his stomach is pressed. Oh and I got the Michael Myers Todd Mcfarlane toy (along with the Nightmare on Elm Street one).

I need all the Halloween DVDs but I am waiting for the box set, which I imagine will come out once Halloween 8 comes out and makes its ways to DVD (late 2002 probably).. I\'ve got the Nightmare on Elm Street box set, which totally kicks ass.

P.S, Halloween 3 : Season of the Witch sucks really bad.

Oh and you forgot The Puppet Master series.

Dang, Ive got all the halloween dvd\'s except for part 2. Now ill have to buy the DvD box set because I just have to have it :)

The Original Halloween Restored Edition is a True masterpiece with both the original and television versions.

Lets hope Part 8 is good. 6 was very dissapointing. But also excellent with Donald Pleasence giving his last performance as Dr Loomis.

Shame because the series should have fully ended with him in it :(

I voted Spice World, as my favourite horror-film wasn\'t listed!

G0d damn you crippler for your deeds, as you forgot to add the scariest film of all time, The Exorcist, wich truly is the scariest movie of all time without expections!

Last night I watched the Entity; the so called "true story" of a certain woman attacked by an unknown force. The movie was a disappointment, but the story was interesting. In the end of the movie it is said that the phomenon of the Entity attacking the woman was the most strangest case in para-psychology in history... and that the attacks still continue...

But, my personal vote WOULD go to exorcist, like I stated before. In horrorness, it beats one-handedly all splatters and Halloweens... :)

But I like Bad Taste as well, and would like to see Braindead...

You seen part 6 --directors cut? It was never officaly released but you can get it on Ebay, etc. It is alot different then the released version and alot better, with alot more of Loomis and different death scenes.

Yep Ive got the Directors Cut of Part 6 :) I sent in money to some doggy person 3 years ago, after many emails, then threats finally my copy arrived.

Not the best quality, but this is how it should have been released. Dr Loomis doing the voiceovers at the start. Less gore than the theatrical version.

The power of thorn stopping michael in his tracks, and with dr loomis getting the tatoo on his wrist with michael walking out the corridor!

But one good thing about the theatrical, michael going nutz killing all the doctors :D

How are they going to continue without loomis. In H20 you could see a piece missing :(

I\'d have to agree with Halloween.  Michael just kics ass he\'s so calm and cool.  Way better than lame ass Jason.  I was wondering if anyone has any info on Halloween 8.  I didn\'t know they were making another one.  The only horror movie I\'m looking forward too now is sadly Jason vs. Freddy.

Jason vs. Freddy? Sounds interesting... :)

Ah, I\'d like to bring up another good horror-movie. Jacob\'s Ladder. The plot is as follows:
"Jacob is in the war of Vietnam. He gets poisoned by some gas during the war, and is passed home afterwards. The gas, however, affects Jacob to see horrible illusions. He tries to make it out in life until things start to get even darker..."

Let me just say that even if the movie in itself wouldn\'t be SO scary, you\'re going to be shocked to near coma in one part of the movie :) Just add the volume high and darken all lights... and enjoy.

--

BTW. have you heard there\'s rumours of Silent Hill -movie coming? Could be really good...

--

Another good horror-movie ( well, one of my fav\'s ), is John Carpenters The Thing - \'it from somewhere\'. Some may not like it, some say it\'s TOO unrealistic to be even scary, but gory it is nonetheless. Over-violenced perhaps.
The plot is as follows to you whom don\'t know:
"Ufo crashlands Antarctic. 10000 years later a group of scientists ( or someone, don\'t remember exactly, and what was their purpose there, but that\'s nothing important ) discover the Ufo and melt it..." Well, you can quess what happens. There\'s a lethal virus inside the UFO... the consequnces aren\'t nice... :)

I like the pressuring atmosphere of the movie when the group is locked inside the base and they\'re all suspecting each other... it\'s cool. See it!

I think if i had to pick from one of those choices it would be freddy nightmare on elm street. All the others made no sense.  There story got stupid in friday the 13. Because as it went on you think haven\'t these ppl finally got the idea that someone is being killed in the woods? And part 3 had nothing to do with the story, niether did part 7, or 8 where did all these ppl factor in with jason? and 9 I thought that whole eating the heart thing was stupid but the decendent of jason dieing to bring him back was a interesting plot . I like the ending when freddy grabes jason mask that rocked.  I think I like the last one except that heart eating nonsense.  Jason gets a D.  I rate jason bad because a lot of them made no sense at all just go back and watch them you will see.

Now Halloween started off good then the story went stupid. With the final Halloween being the dumbest of all. Now the one before that I think part 8 about the baby I like that one. Where he killed the old man yes I enjoyed that one. Now the one with the little girl being a decendent of michael whatever happen to that girl I kept wondering where is this story going? I think as the story progressed it started to lack. Michael gets a C.  He was a lot better than jason and that old man said some interesting catch phrases.

Now freddy I thought started it off great and only got better with a plot of parents killing a guy and him killing up all there children-and there children- and there children to all that killed him are dead. I liked all of them up to the last one where it made no sense freddy gets a B-.  West craves new nightmare not part of the freddy saga gets a D. This movie obvious was an attempt to captilize of the freddy bandwagon.

My favorites are Carrey, creepshow,Bromstrokers Dracula, and there is more I just can\'t think now.

I voted for hellraiser. I wonder though...how did we miss the Exorsist? Another was the Omen now that movie was scary. Serpent and the rainbow...was a classic. How about that line"I want to hear you scream!"...."Not good enough!" Good screaming with a little help from a hammer to the jock.:D
