Title: Multi-tap
Post by: on March 12, 2001, 02:43:40 PM
does anyone know if the ps2 multi-tap works when you play ps1 games on the ps2 because when i play wwf smackdown! and smackdown2 on my ps2 using the ps2 multi-tap it only recognizes the first player controller but when i play ps2 games it recognizes all four controllers.

so should I get a ps1 multi-tap to use on my ps2 when i play playstation1 games on my ps2, also can the ps2 multi-tap work with ps1 games when played on the multi-tap.

What the hell should I do?

ok for starters, you must use a ps1 multi-tap for ps1 games, and the ps2 multi-tap for the ps2 games, in other words you can\'t mix match, so in other words no, you cant use a ps2 multi tap for ps1 games, it has something to do witht he controller config. in the multi-taps

so you have to have each multi-tap, one for the ps2 games, and oone for the ps1 games, buy one of each.

I have a quick question regarding the PS2 multitap - say you\'re playing a PS2 game using the PS2 multitap, can u still use a PSOne non-dual shock controller with the multitap?
Thanks

yes you can, but it all depends on what game you are going to play. for instance, atv off road fury, you can use ps2 controllers, and ps1 non-dual shock or duel shock controllers, but witht the bouncer, you cant even use a ps1 controller, cause you need pressure sensitive buttons, in others words, i guess if the game requires pressure sensitive buttons, then it might not work, i think its one of sonys plans to sell more controllers, i have to buy another one just to be able to play three player  with bouncer, wich i personally think it sucks.

does that answer your question?

oh and its no prob :) welcome to the forums
