I have heard that it can only do 45 fps! That is terrible if it is true.
The game looks good, though it doesnt look as \'sleek\' or \'classy\' as 2097 - the best of the series. 3 sucked.
-
nah...the very first wipeOut was the best, it showed what psx had over saturn. Wipeout 3 was okay, but the WipeOut collection was better, it had a very good (but still fast) 2 player split screen mode!

I have no doubts towards Wipeout Fusion. I believe it is going to be one helluva game. And don\'t believe everything you read, #Racer#.
At least the movies I\'ve seen, we\'re above 45 by far.
I thought Wipeout was very good ( the first game of the serie ), and the sequel was even better. But, in my humble opinion, the third one was best; as it had the best graphics Ps could bring and it had that certain atmosphere and magic.. and it was FAST :)
Wipeout Fusion could be just a graphical update of the old, and it could be just a surfer on the wave of hype; but I think that mistake won\'t be done. I think they\'re lightin\' up every idea they\'ve got, and adding so much to the game, that everyone will be happy.
this is, of course, dreaming. Wish wich is hoped to come true after all.
But here are someones who don\'t care if the game doesn\'t really offer anything new, expect some tracks and vehicles, as the old idea is as good as ever...
Me for example :)
Of course I hope, but I don\'t hope too much. I hope you do the same. Don\'t expect too much, and you might be positively surprised. Expect the impossible, and you\'ll be disappointed. It\'s just a matter of attitude.

##racer##, good to see you\'re still on the boards, did you drop the I\'m gone thing? I hope so, as you mostly post good posts, as for wipeout fusion, I sincerely hope this game is going to bring what it has i potential, I for one am very looking forward to this game, and to answer your q about the framerate, I doubt the game won\'t be 60 fps, and even if it is 45 fps as of now (which isn\'t a bad number btw), they have plenty of time to do something about it, since the game has been delayed to late 2001/early 2002

jesus im not really gonna complane about 45fps i have to cope with 11 at lowest some times on pc 68 max on 3d stuff 800 600 /1024 780 32 seem slow but i cope!!...time to buy a geforceX me thinks lol
-
I do think it is going to be a great game. More weapons vehicles and tracks then the past games. IM looking forward to it.
-
The game is going to rock hard. It will be a true next gen version of the Wipeout Series IMO
45 FPS is BS too. Where did you get that info. It could be the reason why they are delaying the game somewhat.
Supposedly 16 ships on screen at a time with weapons power ups and upgrades while simulating 2000 kph
I\'ll wait for some official word #racer# unless you have a link to some info for us
-
I will have to find the link, I think it was DailyRadar.com... What does that tell you...

The Blue Falcon is spoiled with 60 fps! Man even when my GeForce drops frams it hurts the experiene. I hope they can get a SOLID 60FPS!!!!! I think 60FPS is MUST nowdays!!!!!
-
a game like wipeout needs a solid framerate
but they have put Wipeout on the back burner for awhile probably to polish it up and recode some of it with new PS2 knowledges just to get the framerate up to 60FPS
45 isn\'t bad though, as long as its steady. but Wipeout being a fast racer needs 60 IMO
-
From every official report i read of the game previously, the frame rate was always slated at a solid 60fps, it was what the developers desired, and I doubt they\'d take anything less for their powerhouse reincarnation of the series. I don\'t know anything about this 45 fps rumour, but don\'t take it as gospel until you hear the developers say it for themselves.
Wipeout Fusion could be just a graphical update of the old, and it could be just a surfer on the wave of hype; but I think that mistake won\'t be done. I think they\'re lightin\' up every idea they\'ve got, and adding so much to the game, that everyone will be happy.
well, little is concrete, but one thing that was confirmed about the series, is it will play FAR better than the previous 3 wipEouts. The reason being that the physics model is getting a HUGE update. The previous three have run on models whereby the handling and execution of your craft were affected by I THINK around 8-16 different parameters. Well according to a report i read a little while ago, the craft in WO:Fusion, will be affected by 48 different parameters. What this means is this will without doubt be the ultimate anti-grav racing experience thus far in a game.
i can\'t wait...
