Sorry guys, i will respond in french, that will be more easy :

C\'est juste l\'alimentation qui a sauté?
A mon avis 2 solutions :

- tu l\'ouvres toi meme si tu un peu bricoleur
- tu l\'amenes chez dans un magasin d\'electronique pour voir si changer l\'alimentation suffit, ou pour savoir s\'il y a des degats plus serieux
- dans ce cas, faut contacter sony....

Short answer.......You\'re screwed. Usually when something like this happens it takes out so many componets that the cost of repair would exceed the cost of a new unit.

Did you see smoke? Hear a POP or two?

If you got lucky (not likely) a fuse is all that went.

I have lots of experience blowing things up by incorrect voltages/hertz (goes with the territory), and the results are almost always catastrophic.

Sorry:(

To translate for Julien:

"Is it only the power supply that blew?
In my opinion you have two choices:

-You can open it your-self if you are a handyman
-You can bring it to an electronics store to see if changing the powersupply will do, or to find out if there is more serious damage
-In this case, you need to contact sony"

Just trying to help out.

i bet it\'s just the power supply.. we haved mixed 220/110 V here a lot and it hapend to my dreamcast just 2 months ago.  the power supply should not be very expensive. only problem is to find a technitian who knows PS2 since it\'s relativly a new system so not many technitians may know it. in some cases the same person who sold it to you could also identify a place were you can get it fixed. sony will be propably the most expensive place..

Yep, your ps2 is screwed.

But heres what to do.

Unscrew the casing and take out the Emotion Engine, drill a hole in it and make it into a Keyring.

Thats what I would do if I were you with a dead PS2..
