Title: I am VERY satisfied with Onimusha
Post by: Animal Mother on March 15, 2001, 09:43:51 AM
The Graphics and music in Onimusha are so good, and this game is soooo fun, that you\'d have either hate video games, or be an Xbox fanboy to hate this game. This is THE MUST HAVE TITLE of this month. Even better than ZOE

Is this praise I here comming from you...  Hmmm something must be out of alignment..

Well I am glad you like it.

I am torn between getting RoR or Onimusa..  Or both... Hmmm I think I will decide after the weekend.

I would like how many hours it has of gameplay.

Animal Mother, Have you finished it?

Nope. Haven\'t finished it. But, it does seem nice and long. It\'s about as long a Resident evil 2 I think...

IGN says that it is a short game, but the mini-games make up for that somewhat.

Well Its a cool game, but its a PS1 game dressed up really pretty, and this is definetly not my favorite control scheme. I still call Onimusha a 1 or 1.5 gen PS2 game

I\'m having lots of fun though.

Love the highly detailed baddies.

I\'m heading into the lower bowels of the keep tonight

Overall I\'m satisfied

Hmm, this is weird.

A lot of people criticized the DC as having too many games that were short arcade games, yet the some of the same people like Onimusha, which is in fact a short game...  Very interesting.

How the heck did you guys decode the 2 questions about the Ogre clan? This is before the first boss that kidnapped the princess.

You need to find the scrools that provide the information then fight your way back to those boxes...

Just keep moving along eventually you\'ll have the pieces to those puzzles

I just picked it up on the way to work, but, all I can do is stare at the package for the next 12 hours!!  ARRGH!!  I guess I like to torture myself :D

Anyway, this was one game I have been excited about for a while, and if its as long as RE3 (Decent enough length) like I\'ve been hearing, I will be quite happy.  RE3 was short but not excrutiatingly so.

As far as Oni is concerned, I remember this game being touted as such a revolutionary game waaaay back in \'98.  That was when I was heavy into Myth II and the only thing on bungie.net was Oni advertisements.  From the way it looks now, it doesn\'t seem to have changed much graphically from the few movies in \'98!!  LOL, some revolution!

Anywho, this one I am going in cold, and not using any strategy guides or help in any way.  That\'s what ruined RE2 and RE3 for me, strategy guides I mean.  It\'s also why I had such a blast with RE1!  I had no help whatsoever!!  Damn game took me 24 hours to complete!  (Yeah, I\'m slow, and I also overthink my puzzles!  :D )

I\'m expecting great things from this game.

I personally love this game so far.
The only thing I have against it, is its archaic control scheme.
But that complaint pales besides the amount of fun Im having playing it.
They solved the one problem most people have always had with Resident Evil.
People loved to kill stuff, but you only had a certain amount of bullets and herbs.
They solved both of those problems in this game.
Hey,
where do you get the bow?

ddaryl:  It\'s too true that the console wars is full of BS.  I have a new sig that I haven\'t put in yet that will show it.

I have something to say about Halo.  It really isn\'t that popular outside of the hardcore PC, not to say that it couldn\'t be, but at this time it isn\'t.

If Halo doesn\'t have online play, then all I can say is that XBox will be a bit disappointing at the least...

I agree, the control scheme is whacked, but when you get used to it it ain\'t so bad.

as for the bow, I forgot where I got it from. I have trouble using the bow, not sure how to aim, anyone

I got it today and I like it. Not very impressed gameplay wise, but still I enjoy it about as much as I did Dino Crisis 2. It is Capcom, therefor it is great.

I had trouble with the controls when I first played it and had to fight 2 people at a time,
but I later got used to it. One of the good features that I like in the game is the fact that
you can block even if someone is behind you (this game would be hard if you couldn’t do
this). Just out of curiosity...how many people actually watched the beginning scene and
read all the info that you picked up in the game?

Yeah, I finally found the bow.
The control isnt hard, it just could have been done a lot better.
Right now Im not that damn annoying water puzzle.
Damn its annoying, and each time you die you have to go through ALL those puzzles again, with the dumb conversations that go along with them.
Im still happy with it.
It will be longer than I thought just because of the fact that there is a reason to kill guys in this game which makes it fun.

Samanosuke is so damn fast though. When surrounded, I do the forward thrust, spin around, kick the guy behind me (hold down then attack) and then run, and slash them all at once

I have nothing but high praises for Sony.

Back to the water puzzle.

Yup, pretty impressive. When I want to get more souls to level up my sword etc... I just
kick the demon, then run towards it when its on the ground  and do a quick kill.........The
sword right through his heart.

Hey I need some help!

I\'m in the room where its all dark then you use your fire spell to light up the room, then I go to the only door in the room (besides the one that I came in) and it says

"There is no key hole, perhaps there is a trick to opening it"

anyone know what I should do? also if your still having trouble with my description of the room there is also a magic fountain in there.

hehe,

Light the candles next to the magic well. After you light them both, then you should be able to go through the door.

That water puzzle is a *****.
I finally got through it though.
Right now all my weapons are leveled up and Im off fighting in the dark realm.
Its pretty fun, but the demons down there dont give off enough vitality.
Cant wait till I get the best weapon.

You guys are so lucky to have played this.  I wanted to buy it but I\'m saving my money for ZOE.  So I was just going to rent it.  I went to my local blockbuster, there\'s like 12 in my city though, and asked when they would get Onimusha in.  Whoever is running blockbuster out here in Tucson, AZ is a frickin idiot because they told me that they haven\'t even ordered any copies yet and and it takes atleast a week to get them to the store.  They are so STUPID!!!  It was so gosh dang frustrating because they always get every other game on the shelves the day it is launched.  Onimusha has some of the most hype behind it and they don\'t even order any copies.  They\'re just screwin\' themselves out of money and us gamers out of fun!  Why did it have to be Onimusha?  ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
