I have always been a console player but when my bro introduced me to the world of the PC I have been hooked every since. Before that I used to turn my head when I saw PC games. Now Im building them PCs that is..(still love consoles too)

I voted for the first one because I really love it to much.
But I\'m never satisfied,I\'m always upgrading,I always need more/newer/better.
-
yea i love mine too much at times
the difference a new and updated pc makes is worth all the difference in the world
i love having that power

I love it. While it\'s a POS technically, it and the PCs that\'ve come before it have given me TONS of great gameplay hours as well as being an almost indespensible tool for other uses. Right now, it\'s more of a game machine to store and run all my favorite games from the past 12 years, but hopefully that\'ll change after I upgrade sometime in the unforseeable future.

PC Rulez FoEva!

I like my PC, but also hate it as it\'s old.
3 years spent with this computer, wich offers the opportunity to interact with you. Why could I hate my computer? :)
Again, why wouldn\'t I. It crashes, has caused many berserks, and it\'s getting me look cheap.
Tell me I\'m jealous, I don\'t care. But every time another friend of mine gets a newer-than-new computer, it makes me kick my old pal and mutter in frustration: "need more money!".
But, I shouldn\'t worry. I have my ps2 to play with. This to have my internet-surf with.
But Still... I wouldn\'t have nothing against a new computer... ;)

I had my Pentium 133 for 5+ years and just last week I bought a new Pentium4, 1.3ghz. Needless to say it\'s like a breath of fresh air. I\'m not into big time gaming on PC. I mainly use it for photoshop and discrete. Just couldn\'t handle it anymore with photoshop on my little 133.
-
I like it, \'cept it runs Windoze. Still, I get my Mac the end of the month, so I\'ll be happy.
;)

I hate this piece of ****... Pentium 233 3.4 gigs.. My dad STILL doesn\'t think we need a new one, asshole, it pisses me off that this comp blows balls and i a\\have to deal with it.
-
Yeah well nothing beats my POS computer. Pentium 133, 1 gig hd, 28.8 kbps modem. All it is good for is surfing. But my time will come. Parents say when we do get a new one it WILL BE TOP OF THE LINE. Right now I\'d take anything over this piece of S***!

I got me a kewl top of the line pc. It rules :D

I think mine is nice and is in no need of an upgrade, but overall computers today just suck @$$. Here\'s why folks:
1) They are slow (I\'m talking in general, this includes having dual athlons, etc...)
2) Have incompatibility problems
3) Software is too damn expensive
4) Sh*tty M$ has a monopoly on OS\'s
5) They are too big
6) Too expensive (To own & maintain)
7) A pain to keep up to date
8) Too many useless formats
9) F*CKING SPYWARE & people always trying to sell you something
10) Demand too much of your time
11) Although today\'s society just about requires you have one, no one teaches you how to operate it proficiently. This is ludicrus for a piece of equipment costing over $1g. I\'m damn sick of teaching people how to use programs & optimize their setups. A computer is definitely not for everyone (yet)
You may think I hate computers, but I don\'t. Making your own CDs, playing games at 1600x1200, downloading free music, and meeting new people from across the world everyday are some of the benefits of owning a computer. I\'m just saying 50 years from now I really hope we\'ll all be looking back and saying, "Damn! Computers were really f*ucked up back then, how did we manage???"
:)

Yea tehy are expensive... expecially video cards whats so god about tem, why are they so expensive? I bet GeForcew 3 will be about $700... its so stupid because new video cards come uot all the time who is gonna spend that much money just for a video card?
My computer doesnt even have a video card i bet its so old. My dad is such an ass. "We dont need a new comp"
We donty need one but it freezes about 20 times a day (seriously) its slow as hell, even the internet and we havde cable! The only good game i can play is StarCraft, I have to go to the nieghbors to play Counter-Strike,only 3 gigs.... god what other signs does my dad need to get a new cpu.

Once again THX says it all
I love mine. P2 350 128RAM and still kicking for over 4 years. Soon though I\'ll move up to a 1G Athlon.

Ha! Try this: P1 90 mhz (!), 8 megs of ram originally (recently upgraded to 40 because it needed to have 32 at least to have broadband, don\'t ask me why) , max 640 by 480 resolution, 4 x CD-Rom drive and an enourmous 800 MB hard drive (my neighbor\'s computer has more RAM than that!) Not to mention the monitor is actually from a 91 or something compaq. Hard to believe now but this computer was absolutely top of the line when we bought it. We decided to buy the most expensive one so that we probably wouldn\'t need an upgrade for a looooong time, man were we ever wrong.
Oh. and to answer the question; yes, I love my computer. :D

Oh, quit whining. ****, by the time your computer was a year shy of top of the line, I was just upgrading from a 386DX 8mhz to a 486DX 33mhz. You\'ve still got a hell of a lot better PC than I, and several people in this forum, has.. so I\'d count your blessing that you\'ve got what you have. I\'d kill you for your computer.
Speaking of running old computers, I\'ve got you all beat. While my P200 is the one I use the most, I\'ve got my 9 year old 486 and 12 year old 386DX up in my room running Linux. Once I learn all the in\'s and outs of it, I\'ll put Linux on my P200 and 486 and use my 386 as a local BBS (with at least 5 nodes if it can support it) and my 486 as a server.

I want a laptop! In fact I\'m trying to raise money for one right now... It has to be at around $900-1000 though, so I\'ll have to buy one second hand. Still, it would rock. :)
-
I\'ll be buying a laptop next year too. They are bringing my school into the 21st century.Everybody is going to have a laptop. They will either let us rent them of them or maybe get us some laptops with a discout or something. After I heard this I started saving for a TiPB G4.Probly won\'t afford that though and I don\'t think my school likes macs so I\'ll probly end up buying a Thinkpad or something.

Talking about laptops here is one that would put most desktops to shame. Featured in aprils PC gamer.....Inspiron 8000// 7.28lbs..P3800..15-inch SXGA (1400x1050 resolution)..128ram..20GB HDD..GeForce2 GO GPU..Harman/Kardon stereo system(built in) and many other features. The only problem....Costs about 2,500 dollars. That is the only reason I cant touch a good laptop. Otherwise I would love to have this thing.

I enjoy playing PC games but as for loving my PC , I\'ll have to say that its been giving me a crap load of problems as of late. I personally put together my PC roughly 11/2 years ago. I bought each individual piece and plopped them in together. However that was quite some time ago and now I just want to rip up my computer and upgrade everything.
Heres what im running on :
PIII 500 mhz
128 PC100 SD-ram (my motherboard can support over 1 gig of ram)
Diamond TNT2 32mb Vid card
Sound Blaster Live
20gig hd
4 gig back up hd
TDK VeloCD 8X-4X-32X burner (actually this is my old one, I recently got ahold of a TDK veloCD 12X-10X-32X burner)
6X dvd rom
and everything is housed inside a massive full tower
Heres what Im planning on upgrading to in the summer
P4 1.5 ghz
128 mb RD-RAM
Geforce 3 (hopefully itll be out for PC and the price will be lower in the summer)
If i do upgrade my HD ill probably get a 60 gig or 40 gig
I wont need to upgrade my burner
Ill probably get a faster dvd rom
and this time ill be sure to get a smaller tower (my full tower is too massive) :D

I like my computer right now... a little more so now that we finally got DSL. I have to build my own computer now though.
My Hewlett Packard Celeron 466 w/ 10gig HDD and 64mb of ram aint going to cut it anymore. I dont even see the point in putting a GeForce in it. I borrowed my friends to play some Quake 3 and Counter-Strike. It would lock up and freeze temporarily... you cant have that while playing Quake.
So it\'s time for me to get ahold of an AMD Thunderbird 1.2 ghz and completely start from scratch. I can build my dream machine for a little over 1,200 w/ monitor and printer. I wanted to buy an Alienware... but those are sooo pricey; what exactly are you paying for???
I would upgrade.. but this computer has a lot of my parents stuff on it and I cant really use it the way I want to... So why should I spend that money? Plus when you bulid your own, you know what quality parts are going into your machine. Btw.. pricewatch.com is awsome.

In regarding to Silverskies question of why alienware is so pricey, this is why. Alienware pcs are made and built to ur speicifications. If you wanted a gaming PC then they will make sure that the comp they send you runs game smoothly and a very high fps and high res. THey actually test the games of your choice on the PC to make sure it runs fast. THen they tweak it to make it run as smooth and as fast as possible. Plus the stuff they got in the alienware pcs are some high quality products and not the generic crap that most systems have (Presarios, Hewlett packard systems) For example we recently got my sister a new comp. Shes in teh Marine Corps and just wanted the basic. We bought her a compaq presario. They had a AMD duron on it (durons are bascially like celerons but better) A built in generic soundc ard, generic vid card, etc etc.
