Following their departure form the Arcade market, and the cancellation of a majority of arcade projects, Mortal Kombat 5 is on its way to the Playstation 2 in a big way!!  I have to see the screen shots!!!

I wish they would make it 2d.Mortal Kombat is a 2d game not a 3d game.

yep, this games name was raped when they made gold, but it can be redeemed, they just have to bring back that umph it had before.

all of the MK series were trash.  gore = gimmick

us chimps prefer real fighting games like the virtua fighter\'s

I never liked Mortal Kombat.

May the finishing moves be gory, I don\'t mind. I\'ve always loved Tekken much more. And from my snes times, I enjoyed Killer Instinct MUCH more.

So, if this mortal kombat has nothing revolutionary to bring before us, and if it doesn\'t rely on to the gore-side too much, then just MAYBE this could be worth a shot.

But, alas, we have no pictures, no release dates, no demos ( only rumours? ), so forth I\'m not interested before we do.

Mortal Kombat 5??? MORTAL KOMBAT 5!?! You\'ve got to be kidding me. Well, if they can pull this title from the gutter, I\'ll be happy for \'em, but this series is getting old.

Yeah, MK5.  It was supposed to come out two summers ago.  Then they date was changed to last summer.  Now it\'s changed to this year sometime (I think in the end of the year.)  I have been waiting for this game for so long!  Even after all this time, little is known of what this game will be like though.  From what I heard a couple years ago, it sounded great. :)

I must be a chimp, because I agree.

Freindships? Animalities? So on and so on.
It was a cheap game to begin with and only got cheaper.......

the movie was better than the game..haha   if they can channel the development of the game to play more realistic / better or at least be somewhat fun (the whole game was just about the fatalities [and babalities :D  ] it seemed,rather than gameplay),then it might have a chance or otherwise it will be a long line of rehashed taters

:)...I guess you\'re right...plus the fatalities, babalities, and blablabla...were incredibly hard to pull off...a good half the day just to learn a desensitizing move:(

i never learned all the kills properly,as you say they were hard to pull off,after you wasted tons of coins it\'s even worse to think about :)

mmmh..I used to be big mk fan, but times have changed! I like tekken more. And I\'m not really looking forward to this game. The whole videogames voilence thing will start over agian with the release of this game. I hope they throw all the stoopid firebals/fatalities and other crap out and add some cool real martial art stuff to it. Like in tekken doa or vf. They also need to change the button layout and scrap all the characters, and make some cool ones.

just make an entire new game wwith an entire new name! :)

My cousin was a foolish guy. One time we were at the arcades, and he kept putting in quarter after quarter in the arcade machine (Mortal Kombat I). I told him to stop, but he wouldn\'t listen. He finally lost after he ran out of money fighting Goro. He had spent 16$!!! That was crazy. The store manager was laughing his head off.

Sorry to sound like a total sad o, but it has a lot to prove to beat the likes of Dead or Alive 2.

i loved the MK series, up until MK4 that is, i hope MK5 redeems the series
