can the ps2 memory be upgraded from 32 to 64 of rdram?
-
nope
-
i\'m guessing no, they probably use some special ps2-only ram that (1) you cannot go with 3rd party and (2) would have to come from Sony or other authorized licensee.
-
Short answer:No
Long answer:Nope
-
nope, the only chance i would think would be if you were a devloper, and were creating a game that needed it, otherwise i dont think so, where did you hear this??
-
where would you stick this upgraded memory
I seriously doubt SOny would want millions of PS2 owners to open and stick there hands inside a PS2.
2nd the PS2\'s memory has a huge bandwidth, no outside port on the PS2 has access to the same bandwidth which would render the memory upgrade pretty useless.
Developers would still have to code games for 32mb of mem because most PS2 owners wouldnt upgrade.

No way not possible. However the N64 added more ram with an add on pack. I guess you never know.

It was said a bit time ago that the PS2 HD will bring us a bonus ram memory for the console... have you heard about this?
-
I\'m sure they\'ll be able to make better games with the PS2 HDD. They would probably store info in the Hard Drive to make games load faster...or...something...
