Title: What does it take to be a Mod?
Post by: Terry Bogard on March 20, 2001, 05:51:38 PM
Okay..I know this might be a bad question to ask but is PSX2central taking any Mod positions? If so what are the requirements?

Thanks

DG.

Heh, seems to be an up and coming question... I\'m kinda wanting to be a mod myself... but this isn\'t the place to ask for it.  Anyways, I think you need to be really well respected in the forum and be a voiced regular.  Being a fanboy is not tolerable and being impartial is a huge factor.  That\'s just my opinion though.

Own em both, and yes, I am an SF nut.  Still, I\'m not sure if you\'ve been around here enough to be considered a mod, but I don\'t have any say in it at all.  It\'d be best if you PM\'ed a Mod about this instead of making a topic.

There was a whole thread dedicated to the fact that staff was needed for psx2central and volunteers were being sought to help with the news.  A few frequent visitors to the site were chosen and upgraded in status.  The Psx2c logo under my name does not set me apart from any other senior member, just signifies that I do contribute to the overall scheme of things.

Well, you never ask to become a moderator. Maybe only in situations when there\'s a young forum and moderators are needed. Then you might sign up to be one. But here it\'s an honour granted to those who post wise and thoughtful posts, and can moderate with passion.

And I think no new moderators are needed right now, as Samwise was just selected. So forth I think you might have to wait, DaRkGamer, if you really want to become a mod.

Same goes for you Ryu.

But why people want to become moderators? You can be as respected as a wise member as you would as a moderator. I\'m perfectly happy to be a Dark Apprentice.

And Vivi:
I don\'t know. It isn\'t my job to decide anyway ;)

When I really want to become a mod, I\'ll ask.  Until then, I\'m merely hinting at the possibility.  It would be nice to be a mod because I\'m on here enough to sometimes see things that other mods see much later.  In the event of that, it\'s nice to always have at least one mod on at anytime during the day.  Generally, Soulgrind is here when us yanks are asleep and Aaron and Ddaryl are here when Souldgrind or MM are far too busy.  It works out well, but sometimes, people just aren\'t available.  Besides, I only expressed the thought, nothing more.

People that want to be mods. Don\'t end up mods. People want it for status tend to abuse the power.

Right now we don\'t need any mods..

I\'d say Ryu would make a perfect mod. There is something different about him then the rest of the mods.. he\'s not a complete inbecile!j/k

Next up to be mods should be Living-in-Clip or CygnusXI
Both of them would neither abuse the position or brag about it.They would do a good job,and they\'ve been here sometime now.

To be a mod u should be online on psx2central for 48 hours(cannot sleep) ..then the mods will start to look at you and appoint you to be a mod and praise your 48 hours non-stop consciousness.

I think it\'s nice that we have mods from all around the world. That way there\'ll almost "always" be some moderator or admin online. I check the boards every day (literally, both every day and all day long. Long live computers at your school and DSL at home :)).

Thanks man.:)

If I ever become a Mod, that would be great. But if not, that\'s fine also. I just enjoy posting here. Right now, I don\'t think PS2Cetral needs new Mods though. Sam, Nathan, Ddaryl, Aaron, MM seem to be doin\' a great job. :)
