Tmd56 over at the IGNCube forums posted this, so the credit goes to him.

Geez, more and more info tidbits like this are pointing to GC as being a superbeast. Can graphics look better than Devil May Cry? Sheesh!!!

Infact when asked whether the PS2 was harder to work than the infamously complicated Sega Saturn hardware, Mikami stated "PS2, hands down". Interesting stuff, and although it doesn\'t confirm anything, it\'s probably something to keep an eye on.
Yeah...and Hideo Kojima can\'t even eek out any of the PS2\'s performance, so there must be something wrong with the PS2... Crappy programmers... If this game doesn\'t come out for the PS2, I just might have to hurt someone...

Im sorry but after the (Silicon Knights on Xbox) fake story those IGNCUBE boys made up...i find it hard to believe anything they will say now and forever.
-
They\'re stupid then...why would you do that??? I guess you can never tell if someone like that is lying or not...

Correct me if I\'m wrong, but DMC has been in development for quite some time now, and I\'m fairly positive that that EXACT same quote came from someone out of Capcom several months ago. It was durring the time that Capcom was trying to dump the RE:CV code right into the PS2 hardware to see how it\'d run.
Anyone else besides me remember the barrage of Sega Fanboys holding that quote aloft as proof of the PS2\'s inferiority??

I remember quite well. Its a good 4-6 months old, so I don\'t see the big deal in this.

A super beast that sells for $150.00 ????????????
It\'ll be a kick ass machine but it\'ll be on par with all next gen machines with its own set of advantages / weaknesses. I really don\'t see how you serived this thought from that article

Oh yeah...because PS2\'s inferiority to Dreamcast is astounding... Which is why Sega dropped the Virtua Fighter project and brought it to PlayStation 2 because Dreamacast can\'t handle it. Yeah...real inferior...

Actually, AFAIK, VF was NEVER planned to be on the Dreamcast. From the beginning it was being built for the Naomi2 board, which is by far more powerful than the DC. Sega has had PS2 Dev kits for about a year now, so I think they knew the fate that awaited them, all the while crossing their fingers and hoping the DC would break into the mass market worldwide.
Now that Sega is software only, they\'re announcing games for the PS2 which are currently starting development. I don\'t know exactly how long VF4 has been planned for the PS2, but it\'s fairly safe to say that development on it isn\'t top priority.. expecially if it\'s compairable to the Arcade version. Why release a home version of a game at around the same time if you want it to be successful at the Arcades?

thats very interesting, better than devil may cry? that would be really cool.. but there was recently a ign cube letter station that the systems were actually all on par with each other!! but the gamecube has been ready for quite some tim nintendo is waiting till they have great games at launch before they push the system, a smart move by in my opinion. also, if they launch before x box, the price of the gamecube will draw customers to it more than the 300$ x box (unsure price)
that article on ign concerns me because i think most people think the later somthing comes out, the better it will be, or that like the gamecube will blow away the ps2 because it came out later. this generation i think that games will be the difference.
last generation, devolpers had to make a 32 bt system look "on par" with a 64 bit one, thats why graphics were a deal last time i think, but thats my opinion!!!
