I thought this was really cool especially for F1 fans
http://www.dailyradar.co.uk/news/game_news_1917.html
And not any old DVD either
Sony\'s Formula 1 on PS2 is already shaping up to be the machine\'s best F1 sim. However, the game, out end of May, has just got that bit more tasty with the announcement that it\'ll come with a free Formula 1 DVD too.
This second disc features exclusive footage from the 2000 season F1 races. But this is no sit-back-and-watch video highlights whotnot. No.
This disc features the complete races with the option to view the action from different cars and even select never-before-seen pit-cam footage for first hand experience of the drivers and teams at work.
Chuck in interviews with the drivers and F1 movers and shakers and you\'ve got a package that F1 fans would happily pay £20 for.
But it\'s free!
Early footage and screens suggests Sony\'s F1 game is the F1 game for 2001. This DVD bonus makes that seem even more obvious.
I thought it was cool

And this is why Built-in DVD player is the way;)
*laughs at xbox fans*:D
this is so damn cool...looks my first F1 game on PS2 will be from sony:D

I don\'t understand this part of the article -- "features the complete races". The way it\'s worded is impossible. How many races are there? And each one is how long? And you can fit how much video on a DVD? Hmmm Those guys at Daily Radar got their hands on some hot s*** this time, and then they put it in their pipes and smoked it.
-
good point wegabush
ALthough I\'m sure the DVD will be packaged with the game and include most of these features, a whole season of races in their entirity on one DVD would seem impossible
unless its one of those multiuple layer DVD\'s.
Excuse my ignorance but there is such a thing that holds 17gb\'s or more ??????
Unlikely probably but
-
You could easily compress a race onto a DVD. Just show the same lap over and over again. Round and Round. Round and Round. Just loop it and throw in a fram each lap counting the lap numbers. Heck, I could fit thousands of races on a disc this way.
yawn.....
-
Dual layer DVDs hold about 7.5GB. That\'s about two hours worth of video. Your speaking of future technology. The next thing will be FMD. Clear discs with many layers that are each died a different fluorescent color. They will hold up to 100GB or more.
-
They have one-sided eight gig DVDs now. Yes...I\'ve heard of FMD\'s. 25GB per side. That\'s gonna rock...

I\'ve never been able to appreciate the F1 racing formula as of yet in any incarnation of a video game...perhaps THIS effort by Sony will finally move me to love this challenging form of racing.
