Title: NEED HELP!!! PS2 Hardware problem!

I\'m having problems with my PS2.  When I try to play games sometimes it won\'t even play them.  It goes the same for PSone and PS2 games.  Its even worse for DVD movies it won\'t play them?  I tried the diagnostic on the system and it says disc read error.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I kind of remember someone with a similar post.  I\'m still under warranty but that\'s my last option.  I want to do everything possible to correct the problem. Any advice would be appreciated =)

Oh yeah by the way I\'ve never abused my system in any way shape or form.  I\'ve tried my system vertically and horizontally no effect.  Cleaned my games, etc.  I suspect maybe my laser is off target because it can read the games sometimes.  Once again thnx!!!

so your saying that when ever you put in a gaame is doesnt start, it stays at the beowser setup screen?? you gotta send it in my man, sorry but its the best thing to do

Same exact thing happened to me bro. Except my warranty is over. What I did was search eBay for broken PS2s and I found 4 auctions that were selling for around $250-$280 so I put my broken PS2 up on eBay for 7 days with a reserve of $200, so instead of paying the $126 Repair Costs I am just going to use my estimated $260 towards a brand new one.
