Title: What does S-Video really do?
Post by: Claypool 2001 on March 24, 2001, 09:16:34 AM
Does it improve graphics or something? I know it does for DVD\'s but what about the games?

I would assume that if does increase the graphics, considering that it just changes the signal to make it clearer.
I know Component Cables improve graphics a little bit, and I hear S-Video does the same.

Dude, what are you talking about.
The Autobots kick ass.
Remember when HotRod threw Galvatron THROUGH Unicron.
That was the best movie of all time IMO.
I have it on DVD.

My component cables improve the picture A LOT in games and DVDs.

That was my first DVD, perhaps not the best movie of all time but IMO the best animated movie of all time. Kickass.

Devistator was cool though. Anyone wonder how come when AstroTrain was a robot he was the same size as the other decepticons, but when he was a train or a shuttle all the other decepticons could fit INSIDE him. Of course there are others - like how Megatron can transform into a gun that fits into another robots hand etc. Ah well, screw logic, the cartoon rocks. :)

S-video is a huge step up in picture quality (the colours and the clarity of the picture) above regular composite cables, and if you have Component input it\'s even better than S-video.

the difference from composite cables and S-video cables is like night and day, it will greatly improve the look of your games as well as dvd, component will look a little bit better than s-video but is the best hookup.

i recommend the Gamelink300 monster S-video cables, it will look better than average S-video cables in color and sharpness, trust me im a satisfied customer :) and i had standard s-video and switched to monster, it makes a difference in sharpness and color.

You can really see the difference.  The cables that come with the box makes the picture blurry..well compared to the s-video.  What I find kinda annoying about the s-video is that it makes ps1 games look grainy...guess the s-video increases the quality too much.
