I never really thought much or read much for that matter about this. But do you guys think mgs2 will be alot longer than mgs. mgs could bebeatin in about 2 - 2.5 hours i think and when i say long i mean at least 10 hours to get through the game after you know everything and have it completely mastered.

I remember reading that it will take 10-15 hours if you don\'t know where to go and what to do. If you have a strategy guide or know what to do, divide that time by 3.

MGS with a strategy guide took me 17 hours my 1st try
the 2nd try was about half that
I expect MGS2 to be avery solid 15 hour 1st time around game on average for everyone
but only time will tell, but the game has been in development for a long time so packing twice as much content into the game like ZOE seems reasonable

lets keep in mind that this may be the LAST MGS Game. So Kojima won\'t let us feel cheated

I can beat MGS in about 2-2.5 hours now.
I can wreck the game.
Even without the stealth suit.
With the Stealth Suit its more like 1.5-2 hours.
The first time it took me awhile to beat it.

I remember hearing that MGS2 will take about 10 hours to complete.

well the demo was rumored to be 2 hours long if you went through every single spot. ALthough you can go thru it and easily beat it in 15. If the demo can take as long as 2 hours, im confident that the whole game will be very long. As for mgs, I beat it in 4-5 hours on my first try. Then after playing it over and over i can beat it in Very hard ( where you have no radar) in 3 1/2 hours.

Kojima said in an interview he didn\'t like long games. I remember reading too that he said the game was supposed to 20 hours long...

I won\'t mind if the game lasts 10 hours per play. I\'m happy then. I mean, MGS had some serious re-playability, as you just didn\'t explore everything the first try, and you of course tried the harder difficulty levels ( I started on easy, like i think, the average player does - took me about 10 hours ). In Mgs 2, if the demo goes from 15 mins to 2 hours, that means there\'s lots to explore.
And I love that. I am a gamer such who tries to squeeze every bit of the game out before buying new one, as the money isn\'t enough to buy a game whenever wanted. That is why I want the game I buy to have replayability, or long life-span in overall, and if MGS2 can prove this, I\'m happy.
Just imagine what easter eggs there might be hidden in MGS2, and how many secret endings to discover... it\'s all about Big H now, and I do believe in him that he\'ll bring us, maybe the last, really GREAT metal Gear Solid game - wich will live to beat the hype. I haven\'t tried the demo, so I haven\'t even had the tastes yet...

someone from Konami was interviewed on TV other day about MGS2, he said the game would take about 10 - 15 hours to finish.

The first time i beat MGS in about 6 hours if i remember correctly without a strategy guide, i didn\'t want to ruin a spectacular game.

well it took me about the same length as ddaryl, but without the strategy guide, it took a while so i think it just depends on the person..

I finished it in about 7 hours if I remember well without a strategy guide.
Next time I playied the game It took me 5 hours trying to explore everything lik eth ghosts,Meryl\'s with limited clothes:D etc.
I ve also tried to find some bugs in the game(Like guiding a stinger in the corridors with the dead soldiers to were the Ninja was supposed to be).But I was really amazed because Konami thought of every possible mistake the game could had.It was almost perfect.
I tried to shoot Liquid with the sniper though while he was waiting me next to Metal Gears C0ckpit but nothing happened:).

Time to see all the people lie about how fast they beat the game the first time. Those are the people that didn\'t use the strategy guide, well except when they were stuck of course. :Rolleyes:
Anyways, I think the 15-20 hour estimate sounds good, of course nobody knows for sure. I would be very dissapointed if it only lasted 10 hours.

No, really I didn\'t use a strategy guide at all and beat it in 7 hours, on easy. The only part i hated was the second fight with Raven, pissed me off many a time.

Yeah I also beated it in around 7 hours too.

I beat it close to 11-12 hours without a strategy guide and on my first rental.
I don\'t see why thats so hard to believe.
