Rumors are floating around the net from highly placed sources (such as third-party developers) that Microsoft\'s X-Box platform could be delayed until as late as March 2002, with December 2001 being the earliest possible launch date... and then only if they rush things. With Nintendo\'s GameCube looking solid for an October 2001 launch and Sony expecting to have an installed base of 30 million PS2s worldwide by next March, according to Sony\'s latest projections, if the X-Box doesn\'t ship till March 2002, it will have lost the war before it begins. Microsoft is denying the reports. As we always say with such unconfirmed rumors... "only time will tell."

I know this is a PS2 forum but I have been fence sitting for a while on the two consoles. This only adds to my belief that cancelling my XBOX preorder was a good thing. That and the fact that PS2 has sold 10 million already makes me believe its gonna be in for the long haul. Guess I better start saving up for that PS2.

What a dumbass. :D Those rumors were squashed by S. Blackley at GDC! In fact, the Xbox is ahead of schedule! He showed the manufacturing plant on a video and it said that an Xbox is being molded every 40 seconds! So, your rumor has been debunked, you poor misguided fellow! Blackley stated that they could launch with 100 games if they wanted to, but they actually care about quality so we\'ll see 12-20 games at launch. If anything, Xbox will launch EARLIER than expected. Sorry to burst your bubble, looks like you HAVE to buy an Xbox now! :rolleyes: Seems you guys will resort to anything to bash the Xbox. Damn, TGS and E3 couldn\'t come fast enough to shut you guys up.

As much as I don\'t care for the x-box, I wouldn\'t necessarily trust that info. It\'s coming from sonyweb afterall. We\'ll have to wait and see what happens.

Buy a PS2 if you liked PS1. Don\'t buy it b/c X-box isn\'t coming out soon.
