How come only one company is allowed to license a WWF game but there are multiple titles by different companies for the NBA, NHL, NFL?
-
Probably b/c no one else wants to shell out the $$$ for copyrights. It costs lots of money to use names and brand logos and trademarks and all that crap.
-
Wrasslin\' sucks, who cares.
(In a particularly bad mood today, no offense)

Yes, wrestling does suck now. I used to like it but its too damn repetitive so I quit watching.
-
Well you definitely ought to watch tonight on Smackdown and if you missed Monday night then you missed the greatest show of all time b/c Vince bought WCW.
-
I saw it Monday, it was pretty good. Maybe I\'ll start watching again...probably not

Really? So are they going to merge the two or what? That would be A LOT of wrestlers.
-
I love wrestling and all but it really has become so dang repetitive. As for wwf buying wcw, I just pray to god that they dont incorporate alot of the wcw wrestlers into the wwf. Maybe goldberg or DDP but thats it. Sorry im not a WCW fan at all. Im wwf all the way, although they are getting kinda boring now too. Meh go figure.

I thought WCW was owned by Turner, why would he sell it?
-
Ted Turner didn\'t sell it..remeber when aol merged with time warner... i think aol sold it b/c they wanted to make a music channel for the future to compete with mtv..i heard it would be coming out sometime next year..plus the turner exc said that they didn\'t want wrestling on their networks anymore..so go figure..

I don\'t watch wrestling, but I will buy the PS2 WWF game when it\'s released. I think it will be fun.
In a way, the console game will be more realistic than the actual wrestling events. Think about it: Wrestling events are fairly well scripted, participants are careful not to seriously injure each other, floors, turnbuckles, and chairs are padded, etc. Would this stuff be simulated in a console game? I don\'t think so.
I haven\'t played the PS1 wrestling games much, but it seems to me they were designed as if the wrestling were real. Would you as a player watch your health bar return to full, but then NOT get up off the canvas because you\'d been told to take a dive? Would you wait to defeat your opponent because the television broadcast would run short?
Apologies to all you folks who might think it\'s real.

AOL-TIMEWARNER sold WCW for 2 reasons:
- It sucks much bad
- TNT has said the professional wrestling as it is today has no place on that channel
They\'ve started a feud with Shane McMahon vs Vince at Wrestlemania and Shane bought WCW before Vince could.

Of course wrestling videogames are designed as if wrestling was real. Everyone knows real wrestling on TV is fake, but who\'d want to play a wrestling game were all the fights were predetermined and none of your punches and kicks actually landed?
[Edit: Never mind, you already said that in the first part of your post. I just skimmed over it.]
