mmhh..not that long, 5 year :) since the snes

About 10 years, if I can remember - but frequent gameplay about 8 years. I remember my first gaming experiences to be Pacman on a loaned computer long time ago :)
Lemmings was the first game truly to get me playing, and love the videogaming - first time I truly was entertained.
Then came the snes and all the classical games... and I was hooked :)
Now I have my ps2, but I haven\'t played so much - usually I play Timesplitters with my friends, that\'s all. I\'m still waiting those BIG games to show up ( FFX, Wipeout Fusion, MGS2 etc. ) - I think they\'re going to light the gameplaying-fire inside me again.

It was just over 10 years ago (11-12) that I started playing.

I can\'t remember a time when I didn\'t play... I used to play on our ancient PC, those games weren\'t much graphics-wise but they had plenty of other things to offer. I was well under 10 when I started playing, my guess is 5 or younger. So it\'s kinda amusing when these little boys can\'t believe I play (cause I\'m a girl) when in reality I\'ve been playing before they were even born.

Yes I was 22 when we bought our first game system PONG. Then the Atari. Wow.

It was 14 years ago when I first whipped Donkey Kong\'s tail and saved the princess. I\'ve been a gamer ever since.
I guess I haven\'t been gaming quite as long as my sig would suggest, but you gotta give me some credit. I spent many an hour playing text adventures on my grade school\'s Apple IIe\'s.

i had to pick 15 - 10...because ive been playing as long as i can remember...probably even longer
im only 17, but ive been playing games as long as most 20 somethings

I\'ve been playing since I was ...ehm, 8 or somethin.
( before that I liked real material stuff better, like LEGO, Transformers and playing soldier boy outside... )
that was in 1985 . I\'m 23 years now so that must be.....
15 years of videogaming. My dad had this bulky IBM xt computer and I used to play on it games like castle
and california summer games. also I played those Nintendo handhelds and rippoffs alot like donkey kong.
Those were the days ! :)
Then came alot of other pc\'s , the Sega Master system, the Sega Mega drive , the 3D FX card , the Nintendo 64 and presently my Playstation 2 haha !
So you see I\'ve really been kinda multiplatform gaming.

I started to play when i was a little kid, so something like 18 years ago.
In those days someone gave me an Atari 2600 with lots of games( i had some of those, uhmmm, handhelds too). I spent day and night playing games like Keystone, Pacman, River Raid, Dark Chambers, Donkey Kong, Pole Position, etc( and i still do :)).
After that, i enjoyed nearly every system and spent my money and my time in the arcades. Even i finally liked the PC games( only when i could play games like Monkey Island or Loom though).

10-15.
First game I remember was E.T on the Atari. I have somewhat fond memories of it, even though it was one of the worst games ever created. Probably because it showed me the great world of interactive games. Then I started staying with my Uncle alot and he had a NES when it came out. I remember playing Mario and Ninja Gaiden. Then he bought my "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and I played it to death. My mother eventually got into video games at around the time Mario 3 came out, so she bought a copy and we played that to death. We continued to play the NES a ton. Got a Super NES soon as it came out, and we was both playing a ton of games. She would buy one for her, and one for me. We would end up playing each others games though. I have fond memories of all the Mario\'s, F-Zero, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (YES!), Bubsy and others. Around that time, my Uncle got a Genesis so I kept visiting him to get my daily kick of Altered Beast (cool game, damnit!). Then it was Shinobi or Mystic Defender. Either way, I was playing games at either my house or his. Then, the day Sonic came out, I remember we went over 3 hours just to get a copy. That sold me on the Genesis, so I begged my mother for one and I got one around the time Sonic 2 came out (which was like a year later). After that, I started reading gaming magazines monthly, and getting excited about the new systems. I picked up a 32x, Sega Cd, GameGear, GameBoy. Then I read about the PS, Saturn and got more excited. Started saving up for a Sega Saturn, but Sega\'s suprise launch and price tag made it impossible for me to purchase one on launch, like planned. So, instead, I picked up a Playstation. I got a Playstation, with Mortal Kombat 3 and was semi-impressed. I was impressed graphics wise but I hated the MK series. So, I went and got Battle Arena Toshiden and enjoyed that. I started buying PS games semi-regular and picking them up at "Pawn Shops" for a cheap price. But, it wasn\'t until Resident Evil came out was I sold on Sony\'s new machine. I waited for awhile until the \'3 game deal\' came around with the Saturn. I picked one up, it came with Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Cop, Daytona USA. I also picked up "Nights". I was amazed and pissed at myself for not picking up a Saturn sooner. I also picked up a N64 on launch day. I remember standing out in the friggin\' cold after a long night, as I had a wedding to attend to the day before the launch.
Since all this, I\'ve picked up a 3DO with 90 games, a Jaguar with some games, and a few other odds and ends.
I\'ve got 13 systems and around 300 games now.
Thats the history of my gaming.

Hmmmm.....
I remember it like it was only yesterday.....wait it was yesterday.
I started gaming yesterday....wait...thats not right.
I started gaming about 14 years ago with the atari.
My favorite games were this tanks game which had 99 levels and all these different modes, like invisible tanks, and this game where you have to get some kind of cup or key or something, and to get your sword you had to move around these dragons, and then when you got the cup, some winged thing flew away with it, then you had to follow it to get it back.
I cant remember the name.

Its good to see so many people have such a varied range of experience with gaming.
Its also hard to believe that, while I am not that advanced in age, I have still played video games longer than alot of people have been alive! :D
Seeing as I have just started a family (daughter is about 10 days old!) I now have the opportunity to share this great hobby with a brand new generation.
I hope that this experience will be as exciting for her, and the others when they finally get here :D , as it is for me, and that it will continue to expand and improve. God knows that gaming has come pretty far when looking back on classics such as Star Master and Cosmic Ark on Atari, to AC4 and Onimusha on PS2! The mind boggles.
Also, what are some of your favorites from yester-year?
I still remember great times from playing ancient computer games like Blue Max and Break Street. WOW those seem like eons ago! And did ANYONE ever figure out how to play He-Man on the 2600? I can\'t for the life of me find anyone who ever figured it out!! :D LOL...
SIGH.... Those were the days. Just as good as remembering the ol\' days is looking forward to the new!
Let\'s hear the experiences!

Fell in love with Popeye in the arcade when I was about 5, then an atari and Pac-Man by day and Joust by night.
