Title: There has to be another way ... there has to be!
Post by: Jerky_Joe on March 31, 2001, 11:58:46 PM
I was just wondering if there is another way to get a hold of metal gear solid 2 without buying ZOE. Ive seen the reviews and its not my type of game really. Im not the type that really buys into hype or buy the game for just the demo and my local rogers video rental store rents zoe but without the demo disc.
Is there anyway i can own a copy without getting zoe?

Thanks

So sign up for one.  It\'s free, believe it or not and it\'s pretty damn reliable contrary to popular belief.

Yeah but i seen some of the bids for the game just now

Its like 30 bucks for a demo disc!?
and i take it thats in US funds so being in canada im looking at a slightly higher price just for a demo disc. I know it will be a great game but it isnt worth that much just for the demo

Then you have three options remaining:

1.  Wait for the demo to be released in a magazine, which may not be for quite some time

2.  Suck it up and wait for the final version

3.  Get some friends who bought ZOE and haggle them until they let you borrow it.

Otherwise, EBay is your best bet especially since the demo is "not for resale" as a standalone product.

Perhaps you\'d care to purchase Z.O.E. with its MGS2 demo from some place like Electronics Boutique or Babbage\'s which allows for game returns with full $$$ reimbursement?  While I don\'t use this practice as a means of circumventing renting to test a game (as some gamers seem to do), I have appreciated this unique customer service that these two establishments offer gamers on occasion...when a game I\'ve purchased from there just flat out reeks, they\'ve always been willing to accept the return...no questions asked.

Just an option...

BTW, when you get the MGS2 demo be sure to enter the code I found that lets you enjoy the 2nd level of MGS2 as well [you know, the level where the boats and the missles start attacking the freighter you are on in the 1st level?]
