"Details about the Microsoft Xbox have been leaked over the web, apparently revealing that the console will NOT be playable online until its second year available. Despite being billed as a multi-media device rather than just a plain old games console, the Xbox will not play DVDs or online games on release. A 30 page confidential document recently distributed to Japanese developers revealed that Microsoft wanted to build up a strong user base among hardcore gamers for the Xbox before investing in online games. This may mean no online Xbox games until late 2002 in Europe and the UK"
